You are correct, 110 outlet only operates when connected to shore power. You might be able to snake an extension cord from the bed outlet through the one turnbuckle port or get fancy and make a dedicated extension into a dedicated outlet.

Thanks. I'm now wondering if I should find the wiring going to the rear outlet and tap into it and install a new 110 outlet inside the cab. That would allow monitoring the status of the batteries being charged as well as swapping new ones into the charger while on the road.

Anyone know where that wire runs?

There's a bunch of threads on installing a 110 outlet in the console, a search should bring up several well written tutorials. The inverter is located under the console.

Just purchased a 2002 Falcon to get set up on my 2007 short bed! Very excited to get started building it out! I should be able to keep my swing out installed and full functional with no modifications, so that is very exciting. It's a fully loaded/optioned model, which I'm sure they didn't make many as they already didn't make many Falcons as it was. All the options makes for very little interior space and a heavy camper. I think many of the extras will be removed in favor of more interior living space.

These are photos from the seller's original post, so that's not my truck. I'm currently out of the country, but my wife will be picking it up in a couple weeks.

So, I have taken it off, and since the rear drain was hitting the tailgate, I bought a snailarmor aluminum rear plate and now there is no interference with the drain and the tailgate fully closed. The FWC tacoma plates are super beefy and rock solid, the newer ones include the side to side supports. Bomber! I installed the electrical, the Marinco plug was on the Finch, so I left it and got a Marinco receptacle, unfortunately after getting an Atwood at FWC, live and learn. I like that the Marinco is waterproof, and has a cap. Put on some Sumosprings, the black 1400 lbs and it rides super. Love the low maintenance, and price! $245 from their Amazon store, amazing difference. Leafs are OME HD. Bilstein 5100.

The first picture is before the sumo springs. It is at least an inch lower without the sumo. Nice thing about sumos too is that you can take them off in 5 mins. I am going to see if they have a super small one to put on when I want to go without the spring. You can see here the atwood is not waterproof.

2009 Finch came with the optional outdoor floods. They were beat and heavy and waaaaaaaayyyy too bright for my preference. I looked at many different lights and some were as much as 189 each, dimmable and different colors and salt water proof. Settled on these. They say spot but not really, light ( no pun intended), and using spacers kept the old brackets so no new holes. Autozone price was $$31 a pair, and they are like 868 effective lumens. Very compact.

What about hooking up the 110 inverter to the shore power?

I thought the inverter went 12VDC to 110VAC.
