Yea if the bump stops are properly spaced, I you have less shock travel left than you have to the bumps then they do nothing. Of course this most likely means the shocks are too short, but my point remains, you need to space the bump to stop the shock before bottoming out.

Wheeler's Off-road super bumps, they're sweet and wheeler's has stellar customer service. My driver's front had a defect and once it did finally tear (as expected), they sent another free of charge. Also, they sell spacers for extending the height of the bump if you are outside of factory travel, which you shouldn't be if you ordered the right length for your amount of lift.

A shock that is too short is better than one that is too long. Better to have the shock stop extended travel than to have a shock piston that is too long jam into the top of the shock body at full compression. For example, ppl running front spacer kits should extend their bumps to keep this from happening.

Ok thanks. I’ve got 2” 2.0s in front with 1.5” ones in the back with the wheelers 1.5”progressive add. Still on turnaround so parts are just sitting for now. Saw the post on bumps so was just curious. Since your review on the your setup inspired my setup.

I got a smoking deal on them, that's the only reason why I have them, they were returning them as I was in the store, saved a bunch. Personally I don't like them inverted, open for damage then.

Gotacha, I was thinking that they could go either way. So they specifically built to be run inverted?

If inverted then there's no mountingnoption except piggybacked.
I removed my piggyback brackets the day after I installed them and went to frame mount. (Piggyback mounts I have for sale).

Here's a pic showing how they Fox mount is too wide. Resi is 6" wide, measurement to outboard side of straps is 6.5". It's like this on both ends. IMG_1170.jpgIMG_1171.jpg

So from what I understand from my research before installing my suspension was that the inverted rear shocks were actually FJ rears that an off-road company (maybe headstrong?) modified for the Tacoma... And they don't sell them anymore. I could be wrong, but that's what I remember.

Also, I would call Fox about those frame mounts. Their customer service is pretty dang good. They might have other options for you. Better to check than have one of those come out off road. Honestly, I might slide the resi back and just use the rear of the mount with the retaining ring towards the middle of the resi. Likely more secure.

About an Inch, but I also had a steel TC skid. See pic, you can see where the collars used to be. I also have the old double collar adjusters.

Right out of the box should give you what you want. The ride is fantastic. I have over 30K miles on mine with no problems at all. Never had 6112s.

If you read through the early posts, I rode in a guy's taco with 6112's all the way up and it was stiff as hell. My truck blows his away. It's the Fox valving, can't be beat. I researched for a year bf making my decision.
If you're not planning to run 285/75/16 tires and remove your mud flaps, go with the combo I suggested. You like rake, go with 3 turns down on passenger side. If you don't tow, go with 3turns up on driver's side for a dead level truck with 1.5" progressive aal's on the rear. Sometimes I wish I had cranked mine up as far as Mully (to run 285's), but he has his heep to abuse off-road. I wheel the crap outta my Taco and didn't want excess pressure on ball joints and CV's annnnd need my flaps in GA. Also, didn't want to spend $450 on new UCA's.
If not touching the rear with lift and want a level truck without the driver's lean, go 3 turns down on passenger side.

P.S. How does Mully keep his truck so dang clean!! GA red mud just sticks and stains! Haha, always impressed with that truck.

I suggest 6 full turns up on driver's and 3 up on pass side unless you have extra weight up front. Would add a rotation for every extra 50lbs. Mully, what do ya think on that?
