Honestly I've never measured. The truck sits level with 887 coils up front so I never bothered.

It's better for the shock to be a little short rather than too long. At full droop the internal structure is protected (internal bushing) so you won't damage the shock. If you run a shock designed for more lift than you have, you run the risk of driving the piston rod into the top of the shock... Not good.

To my knowledge, the tsb's are already .5" higher than stock. Why do you want to keep the overload? Plan on towing a tractor? Haha. Yes, you'll keep the extra .5" of height that the overload adds, but more weight to the pack so not as plush if you off road hard. Also, she'll flex more wo the overload. Just my two cents fellas. I considered leaving the overload, but after ample research for what I do with my Taco I decided to leave it out. Haven't seen anyone "blow out" the leaves due to no overload w the 3 leaf progressives.
Also, you need to call Wheeler's or someone who knows for certain if the 3 leaf aal's work with the tsb springs bc I seem to remember there is an issue.

My offroad use is limited. Pretty much driving on the beach and the occasional dirt road. No hard core trails or rock crawling. I'm going on 4 months with mine installed with 0 issues. :burnrubber:

I actually have a tractor! Naw just kidding but do plan on towing trailer, boat, etc. Want more capability off-road but also don't want to limit my truck stuff.

I mostly kept mine for the extra .5 inch. Since I have the 887 coils up front I wanted to keep my rear end up as much as possible so I wasn't squatting.

I here you. Like I said I'm trying to figure it out. I'm just trying to be as capable as possible all around. Had to grab the gear on that group buy though. Savings was too good.

I had the same reservations about "limiting truck stuff," that being limiting my towing capacity. But as stated, have had a full bed of heavy gear and a trailer hooked up full of furniture etc (during a move) and zero issues (she didn't even sag that much).
Still check on those tsb's though. Think there might be a 3 aal pack specifically for those, meaning you'll be a solid 2" higher in the rear after they settle. I would stay away from the single aal. Have ridden in 3 tacos with singles and they were stiff as all hell. Again, just my 2 cents fellas.
And Chase, you're going to love those Cd adjusters on the sand! Soften those bad boys up and you'll be on a cloud! Haha

Thanks for the advice. Looks like I'll have to rethink the single aal. Back to drawing board.

Looks like I'll be calling wheelers after the holidays. After looking into further, the progressive 3 aal minus the overload seems like the way to go.

Quick note: forgot to turn my rear shocks down after towing last week before a 5 hour road trip this past weekend w nothing in the bed... Was stiff as a board on the highway. Turned em down 3 clicks for the ride back and even the wife noticed the difference without me saying anything bahaha. That's winning fellas :muscleflexing:

Chase, couple quick questions that I hope don't sound too dumb (I'm new to this stuff). First, do you still recommend 3 turns up to the DS instead of down on the PS? and just to clarify when you said down on the PS you meant clockwise right so effectively expanding the coil not compressing? It seems the adjuster on the 2.0's is under the coil as opposed to above with the 2.5s if I'm seeing this correctly? I'm still trying to decide between the 2.0s or 2.5s for my COs but definitely the 2.0s with resi in the rear. I live in New Hampshire so I'm thinking maybe 2.0s due to the salt and crap in the winters here.
For my rear lift I can't decide between throwing OME Dakar pack in there or a 3 aal. I do some occasional towing (18' bass boat) plus am going to be throwin a CBI overland rack and a plate bumper on there so I figured with the "consistent" increased weight thought the Dakars might be a good idea...not sure.
One last dumb question...did you do a diff drop with there only being 2" of front lift? I agree with your point of staying around 2" to save money on UCA's but also save the CVs for the long haul (just got rid of a highlander with 365k+ miles so I'm tryin to keep this baby til it explodes). Just trying to get some ideas because I'm definitely going with Fox when it comes to my lift...just deciding between the 2.0 vs 2.5 COs.

I purchased a full Fox setup from AccuTune Offroad. They came highly recommended from a friend. I went a little overkill with 2.5 reservoir front and 2.0 reservoir out back. They valve them to your vehicle and offer one free re-valve after purchase for free. It will be a few weeks for me to get them.

Update: Over 25K now on shocks, added Pelfreybilt Bumper, 10K winch, only lost 1/2 inch in hight. Still need to install all of the skids and waiting on sidebars to arrive. Truck ride is excellent.
PS: Drop diff is not needed.

    Apologies, been slammed following Irma.
If you live up north, def go with the 2.0's bc of the aluminum body. Also, to clarify go 3 full turns "up" (expanding the coil) on the driver's, especially if you intend to add any weight up front. DO NOT even consider a diff drop. One good hit on the trail and you'll be looking at serious damage bc of where they put everything. Search the forums if you want to see pics of other guy's misfortunes.

As for the rear, if your rear springs don't have any corrosion or sag, go with the 3 leaf aal's. Otherwise, the dakars are great. I have a heavy body armor rear bumper and no discernible drop in height after 6 months+. A guy has the dakars in my business complex (dude with the bilstein 6112's cranked all the way up). His rear felt stiffer than mine, but that could've been bc of where I had my cd adjusters set. Lastly, make absolutely sure to buy at least one roost guard or you'll be buying a new passenger rear shock in a year. It's super exposed and one look at my roost guard will show you the need. Hope that helps, will try to not be a stranger on here.

That diff drop damage has been all over the forums but I believe only happened to one guy. He was running through the desert and slammed his front end to a rock which essentially shattered the diff as it hit the diff drop.

It's probably unlikely you would ever replicate that, but with that said I don't run one either lol and I have a full 3inches up front. I might do the CV boot mod where you slide the boot further up the drive shaft to prevent the fins from touching.
