Haven't tried it on the tacoma yet but have used this method on multiple other vehicles with 100% controlled success. I thread a 2" wide heavy duty ratchet strap through the coil, hook directly to the ratcheting body if you can picture it. Usually one on each side and just squeeze enough to take pressure off. Have done it with struts installed on the vehicle and also on the workbench swapping springs (more attention to safety required) . For this application I would first thread it through and get it set up ready to tighten then jack up and compress the coil over. then just cinch it tight and drop the jack (support somewhere else with a jack stand obviously). The coil will stay compressed and you are free to make your adjustments without worrying about stripped threads or anything. It can be tricky to fit the larger ratchets but so far I have always managed.

I ran across this thread while researching the Fox 2.0 front coils. I know it's an old thread but just wanted to say thanks for all the info! Still on the fence do to the whole having to remove to do final adjustments. I do appreciate you all posting all the info, advice and pics!!

PS. If anyone has any up dated info for the 2nd Gen, please chime in. I am still considering these as an option! Thanks in advance!

I had 2.0 coil overs and rear resi’s installed a few months ago and am loving them.

The ride is smoother and steering feels much more planted while on road.

Oh yeah the look is nice too :)

I still haven’t measured exactly but it’s about a 2-2.5 inch leveled lift. I do have the 3 leaf progressive AAL in the back as well.

They are supposed set be set at 2", I cranked mine up to a full 3". 4x4 or Prerunner, doesn't matter. These are great coilovers, I ran mine for 40K miles before I sold them off. Good luck with your truck.

This suspension game is a vicious addiction. I am on my 4th setup and about to make another major change. I could have spent alot less if I just saved up more funds and did it all the 1st time. Now I want long travel and my friend wants me to do a SAS on 1 tons. Check out JD Fabrication site.

Hey Mully, Been reading the Fox 2.0 threads and saw you set yours to lift 3”. I read you mention you ran it for 40K miles. Did you have a negative experience running it at 3”. I have the Fox 2.0 and want to take out some of the rake. I need to come up to 3”. I run TC UCAs. I was hoping for some feedback with running the set up at 3”. I read negative comments about 3” putting various parts under stress. Thoughts? TYIA

Replied and will add that I had no problems and wheeled them at Pismo dunes, Moab, Shaver Lake and more. Great product, I ran them with SPC arms also. CV boots didn't blow up like everyone said they would. On Kings now with TC uppers and DK lowers.

Hey thank you so much for the response. I was concerned with over-stressing various parts people describe by setting the unit to a 3” lift. I haven’t changed out my lowers yet. I honestly don’t plan on changing the LCAs. Hopefully I can get away with leaving them stock.

I sold mine and they were like new, bushings were in great shape. The LCA is a pretty solid stock part. Now the uppers, they can bend.

Cool. That makes me feel better. I appreciate the info. I switched to TC UCA so going along with what you’ve said I should be all good.
