I've been interested in buying the Fox 2.0 Coil-overs and shocks for my 02 Tacoma. If any one has any experience with these, I mainly want to know about the ride. Specifically how do they feel on a washboard road traveling with some speed? Thanks!

I’m kinda interested too. I know a ton of guys use them or kings but at the price point it is such a big step for me. Mine is my daily driver with the occasional off-roading at an off-road park here in Michigan. If I had money to burn like it seems some of these guys have I’d just buy them and try them. I’d love my truck to ride like a trophy truck as far as bumps go. Instead it rides like a shopping cart on a gravel road. good luck figuring it out. Right now I have the cheap lift. Bilstein 5100s a spacer in the front and Bilstein 5100s and a leaf spring shackles.

They'll be better than 5100s probably :notsure: I don't know what you're expecting this group to tell you... Fox is a good reputable company, I doubt the product is bad. Once you have rebuildable shock like these, if there is something you don't like about the ride, you can actually do something about it- change the valving, springs, and preload. You're not going to get trophy truck performance from these (especially considering they are a 2.0 and not a 2.5)- You'd have to get into long travel/external reservoirs/rear shock relocations etc.. to start barking up that tree.

Why do you have 5100s with a spacer in the front? The 5100 shock has three different spring perches for just that reason.

Your'e looking at a difference of roughly 200 dollars between the fox 2.0s and king 2.5s which would be a better decision in my book. These fox 2.0s are not easily adjustable like a 2.5, I would say they are pretty comparable to a Bilstein 5100. The 2.5s are are also tunable if you get them rebuilt by a reputable shop. Specifically when you say washboard road with some speed....spend the extra 200 bucks...

More like $500 if we're being accurate and only going from Fox 2.0 fronts to King 2.5 fronts.

Nothing wrong with Fox 2.5 fronts though if he went that route instead. Cannot in good faith suggest Kings in the rear as they are meant as an OEM replacement; many have had failures due to overextending them as they're really short compared to other offerings.

Being able to rebuild and tune is worth it alone for sure so agree there.

Wheelers has the fox 2.0s at 1,171 and king 2.5s for 1,345 so that’s where I’m ballparking that. Nothing wrong with fox 2.5s either, I’m running those , either but those jump in price too. At the end of the day how deep are the pockets and what is the truck going to be used for

Ah gotcha, the Fox 2.0's kept popping up in the $950-975 range whereas in stock Kings for $1.4k give or take

Ran Fox 2.5, ran King 2.5, I'd skip both

ADS if I had a Tacoma again

Quality of the seals and good customer service make them a contender for sure. Lot of options for 2nd gen and up now, glad companies are still supporting the 1st gens.

First time I've ever heard of the 2.0's being stiff in front. The rears yeah, which doesn't help that it has stiff springs compared to the front.
