Ok let's get a few things out of the way.

    Truck: 2000 Tacoma TRD 4x4 3.4L v6 5mt
Leafs (ordered): Alcan 8 leaf with no overload, stock height, stock weight rating

What shocks will give me the very ultimate in highway ride quality? Note that California highways are pretty high speed and overall very rough.

    We've got drops
    We've got sudden rises
We've got big holes in the road
    We've got wavy sunken roads

If you're lifted, please don't reply as this is a totally different scenario. Stock control arms. Only modified parts will be the shocks and springs.

    So far I've looked at:

    Bilstein 4600 (current)
    Fox 2.0
Fox 2.5 (needs aftermarket UCA, less interested)
    Icon?
King 2.5 (aftermarket UCA? less interested)

I have new Bilstein 4600s so if those are good I'll just keep them.

If the Fox 2.0 is smoother on the highway I'll opt for those. I've read some reports that they ride super harsh. I've read some reports that they're ultra smooth. It can't be both, so what's up? Some people indicate they feel the little cracks but it handles bumps well. I can certainly say I care a lot more about handling the big dips and ramps which basically damn near jump the truck (going up on top of an underpass). This becomes especially important as I want to haul up to 400 lbs (dirt bike + gear) at 75-85 mph without bottoming too much.

    So what's the very best?
