Fox 2.5 Coil Over Setup… What should I expect? Should I upgrade?

    IMG_0902.jpg Thinking about going from a rough country 2.5 lift kit to a Fox 2.5 Coil over suspension lift. I currently have K02 285 and just want to be sure they will give enough clearance. They claim a 2.5” lift but I have an sso bumper and have seen a few online installs that show a 1” lift. Located in Canada.

    What’s the on road experience? Any significant improvements with the Fox 2.5?

    Anyone have a similar setup or experience? Any recommendations?

    Is the upgrade for function or for looks? Truck looks clean as is but if you’re looking for an upgrade in performance off-road, fix will be night and day compared to rough country

    Fox 2.5 all the way around. C4 bumper and winch. I think maintaining the lift height has more to do with which spring weight is put in ie 600, 650 or 700. I’m running 700’s for reference. I’m running 285/75R16 with -25 offset.

    Looking improve performance while maintaining the same look. I drive 70-80% in city but canadian roads could be considered off roading. Their are also six months of heavy snow and winter. Just seeing if you noticed significant performance improvements for the cost. I likely won’t be upgrading or changing trucks anytime soon. So just curious how others felt about the overall upgrade. And what else might be involved.

    I believe that depending on the spring rate and how they are adjusted you will maintain your lift height.

    As per ride it took a little time adjusting my DSC to get the ride to smooth out. I kept a log of my adjustments to know where I was at. I only have stick ride to compare against. I do find once it was dialed in with my weight it was definitely more stable of a ride and didn’t dip in turns or when braking. I added all my weight before my lift.

    if you go to my profile you will see everything I did. I kept a list. Did I go overboard a little? Maybe but I thought it better to be patient by parts over a year and then put it all on rather than keep going back and installing more and more.

    Full Fox 2.5 DSC with 600lb Springs, Gusseted Spindles, JBA High Caster Uppers, and Sumo Bumps all way around. I am running RXT leafs in Rear on Option 3. I have a front steel bumper and winch, in the rear I am carry a GFC Topper, custom fabbed HC rear bumper with swingout arm and spare, and a new decked drawer system. Rides like a dream. I keep it on the softest setting for around town daily driving and increase compression on the low speed and high speed adjustment when I offroad depending on where I am and the trail/road.

    I am running 295/70/17 and have no clearance or rubbing issues - albeit I have my pinch welds and an aggressive bmc done. I also have a high angle clearance cut on my front bumper.

    I rebuilt my suspension setup coming off an Icon Stage 4 setup and it was a significant improvement.

    Are you on 13" or 14" springs? That's an insane amount of preload.

    My truck is 5700lbs, bumper, winch, aluminum skids/sliders and I have 14x600lb springs on Fox 2.5 DSC's. I have 1" exactly of preload on the drivers side, 3/4" of preload on passenger side. It gets noticeably stiffer every two turns (1/4" of lift height at my weight) of preload I add.

    I was wondering just cause your preload looks crazy. Your top hat and center bolt at ride height is important

    I know for a fact I am not beyond the recommended preload. Fox themselves says no more than 1.75" of exposed threads above the collar and we set it at 1.5". Is that ideal for optimal preload, probably not, but we might install new springs soon. I have added significant weight since I put the suspension on. Still rides buttery smooth.
