Hi, I got a pair of Fox 2.5 Coil-Over with remote reservoir and I got some "pop" noise only when going over small bumps and I would like to know if someone already got the same thing ? Its make the same noise as if I had an bad bushing or something else.

I have checked and everything is tight and the sound is coming from the shock itself when traveling a small amount.

PS: This sound was from day 1 when it was brandnew.

    Thanks!

Yes and they told me that the warranty only cover if the shock leak some oils...

Are you sure it's the shock and not the aftermarket upper control arm? The bushings and uniball on my All-Pro UCA make all kinds of squeaking noises.

If you are reasonable confident it's the shocks, I'd contact Fox directly and see what they have to say. Record a short video clip and show it to them.

Note these race-derived coilovers will make some noises. All the NVH damping elements in OEM shocks (rubber bushings, anti-slap wrap on coils, isolator pad on top of spring) are not present.

Yes im sure its not the control arm bushing because i had the stock ones few month ago and now i got theses new SPC ones with new spec ride bushings.
I had my truck on a level surface with someone bouncing the truck when i was under and its like the shock rod has just an little "free play" thats do that noise. Its doing the same thing on the passenger side too. Maybe its normal ??

^Actual freeplay is not normal. Raise the truck up with the frame on jack stands so the wheels dangle free. Move each wheel up and down and see if there's any play. Check and make sure the spring has no play (i.e. the threaded perch is sufficiently tightened to preload the spring at full shock extension).

No such thing as over-extending the shocks. The shocks are intended to be the droop-limiter in the suspension.

Could be the ball joints on the LR UCA's....pull the boots wipe off the limited grease they put on and pack them with a molly fortified grease. I had a pop or clunk that I could not isolate that happened at full lock when in reverse or going over speed bumps. This seemed to take care of it. If not could be LCA ball joints....

Well yes, the "pow" is the piston hitting the shock body's internal stop. If you are getting full shock extension while driving on pavement, your ride height is set too high.

Straps are used in long-travel systems where the mfr spec'd an off-the-shelf 8" travel shock and the shock is longer than what the uniballs or CV can accommodate.

Hey, it sounds like you need to lube your Uni Balls. We recommend a Dry teflon lube. (I use a "Motul" Dirtbike chain lube on mine) This will get rid of the squeaking noise with just a few squirts.

I had fox coils that did the same thing. Too much preload on them was the culprit. going over bumps would cycle the coils and with all the extra force on the coil it would droop to fast. The fox coils dont like to be lifted more than 1.5" - 2"

motorcycle shops should be able to recharge nitrogen. Maybe call any truck shops around.

Not sure where you are in NB but I googled "motorcyle shops in New brunswick" and there were several results
