What is it made of? gum wrapper foil?

I had 700# coils on my icons and was able to adjust it and the threads on the coilover body looks untouched. Just made sure the threads were clean and sprayed WD40 to soak in to help. I adjusted them many a times and never had any issues. I just jacked up the front to have the weight of the vehicle off and no problem with the spanner wrench.

Exactly. Why bother even buying a coilover then? Adjust it unassembled, assemble, mount, measure, then do over again and again to get the measurements right?

Thanks @YotaDan . Spayed the locking rings/threads down with CLP, used the spanner wrench and a rubber mallet to hit it. Worked great, and didn't have to remove the coilover from the truck!

I was told the same thing, got mine about 3 months ago. and it takes 8 full turns to get 1" on the body.

I set mine, got about 2.4" of lift, I was fine with it but wanted about 2.75 but wasnt willing to take it all apart again for that little movement. did anything look damaged after adjusting them on the truck? Im too worried Ill loosen the allen head too much and the collar will be too loose and the spring push the collar up. Is that insane? haha

    Fronts: 22.5"

Edit: also just measured I have 2.25" of coils showing on the Coilovers. I am running a 1/4" spacer on drivers side and it sits perfectly level

When fox says turn clockwise to raise vehicle do they mean looking down on coilover or if it were raised on lift you'd be looking upwards (rotation would be opposite) if that makes any sense. Thanks to anyone who can decipher/ help with this

I bought that fox level 4 kit off headstrong. It says it's 2.5 to 3inch. Yeah that's fine. But when you put it on. The back sits 39 3/4. And the font at 36... My truck look like a hot rod. Drove me crazy. So I read this https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/adjusting-fox-2-5-coilovers.44796/. I went to harbor freight and bought a pinch set with a 5/16 in it. Came home picked up the truck in the front middle, got the tires barely up just enough off the floor. Use pinch tool with some Wd40. Unloosen the alley bolt a little bit (do not take of the bolt). I do have the tool but was pain in the ass. This work better. Know my fronts sits 38 3/4. I know it looks good. I hope this helps.

    Hey there Mike,

I just came across this post and I wanted to touch base with you real quick and offer some more explanation for the 3rd gen guys/gals.

Pretty much, all of the coilover manufactures rolled their 2005-2015 coilovers out to for the 2016 models. Basically most of the numbers that you see, for out of the box measurements, would be 1” less on a 2016 double cab 4x4. The Fox 2.5” coilovers come preset from Fox for 2” of lift but on the 2016’s that equates to 1” of lift since they are essentially 1” pre-lifted from Toyota. Another example are the Icon coilovers, they come preset for 2.5” if lift so you would see 1.5” out of the box on a 2016. As you can noticed, the collars can be adjusted for additional lift. Now the lift isn't unlimited so but depending on how high you are trying to go, over stock, you may run out of adjustments.

I can't wait to see some pictures!! :D

Thanks Marie for the good info. I just went back to my tire shop and change my tires back to the 285. After I prelouded the spring my truck is almost level. about a .5 off the back. Did have to trim just a little bit of the cam. The way the front CO came man I would have to trim the doors. JK. What a big difference in look and drive. Very Happy. Thanks Marie

I bet you are stoked that you have a circular driveway so you can keep an eye on your truck without leaving the couch!
