    Ok I've read the long travel thread but this doesn't seem like it applies.

    What are the pros and cons to either of these setups?

    The extended travel only means you will get about 1 inch in extra travel from the shock / coil over a normal shock/ coil over.
    Long travel and mid travel and extended shocks and non extended are all 4 different set ups.

    How does this effect driving on the road? This is a DD but I want something capable. At the same time, I only want to lift once

    All coil overs can become extended travel. Just a matter of removing the shims inside.
    On a DD not offroading, them there is no difference except initial cost. If you off road and feel you need that extra inch of travel to get you over a obstacle or through a trail then it makes a difference.

    Outside of UCAs, is there any other cost I should be looking for (not saying UCAs are cheap by any dtretch). The coilovers seem to be the same price

    Like @JaCado said you can convert standard travel to extended travel by replacing the internal spacer, but the shock needs to be torn down to do so. Some people like to go with the standard travel because they work with stock UCAs and saves some money, but offer less lift as well. On the road you won’t notice a difference at all. So the real question is do you want to buy UCAs or not. If yes then extended travel, if not then standard.

    Edit:
    Forgot to mention, they are the same exact shock (standard and extended) the only difference is a larger spacer on the standards stops them from dropping as far. That’s why standards can work with stock UCAs.

    The extended travel coilovers, which offers additional droop to your front suspension, require aftermarket upper control arms to ensure the proper amount of wheel travel is achieved.

    ext travel = 4.9" stroke
    standard = 4.5" stroke.

    Not much of a difference, but if you're already going UCA's, then the extra travel doesn't cost anything so why not?

    Thanks! So how the big question... Is it worth it to just do it now and "lift once, cry once"

    It’s your money. I chose extended and JBA UCAs. I like the fact that I get more castor for better drivability and moving the wheel forward for tire clearance.

    It doesnt matter. You will eventually have to have the shock serviced and you can change it, if you dont want to cough up for ucas atm.
