    I don't even buy off Amazon 3rd party sellers, been screwed over on that before (order never arriving despite supposedly shipping it out twice). If it's not Prime you don't get the backing of Amazon if/when the seller screws you over, or it gets lost in shipping, etc. So I only order Prime stamped items off Amazon. Same with Walmart online, Walmart's online store is even worse because they don't vet 3rd party vendors at all apparently (just look at this whole Fox shocks fiasco).

    Anyone with a scam in mind and the means to set up an account through Walmart can do it and probably make a good chunk of money before Walmart pulls the plug on them after receiving enough complaints

    I’ve bought a few things off Amazon that I verified first the seller was legit other than that I stick to Amazon warehouse as the seller/Amazon Prime. Many things sold as brand name goods on Amazon are actually fakes, even Amazon Prime items-read the reviews. eBay has protection policies and Ive not had issues there, I check out the seller ratings. And you’re right, Walmart is the worst - it’s like they don’t even try to stop fake goods and outright fraud, I never ever buy from any 3rd party sellers there.

    Even if you buy something specifically sold by Amazon, you can still get ganked. Amazon mixes their inventory with that of third party sellers for matching items. Third party douchebag can send in a knockoff widget, and if the SKU matches one that Amazon sells, they get tossed in the same bin. You buy the Amazon product, but get the third party knockoff sent to you. Amazon will generally make it right, but you still have to go through the process to get it fixed.

    True, I avoid buying auto parts off Amazon/ebay for this reason. But the nice thing with Prime items at least is that if you call Amazon out on it, you'll get a refund no questions asked. If it isn't Prime you're basically at the mercy of whoever the 3rd party seller is

    If you have a 2003 Tacoma you can't pick the 4wd option for it, so any 4wd parts you try and order will show up as "does not fit your vehicle" according to Amazon lol.

    This isn't unique to Amazon, but a real pet peeve of mine is the whole "Base, S-runner, Pre-runner" selection BS.

    Like WTF. "Base" doesn't distinguish between a 5 lug and a 6 lug, since both have "base" models.

    I will often pick pre-runner, because at least that I know the parts are interchangeable, it just won't show me CVs (probably).

    yeah I never really understood that either. In order to specify 4wd I have to pick base model over Prerunner or 5/lug.

    It's almost as bad as going to the parts counter at AutoZone for a CV axle and them going "is your truck 2wd or 4wd"...every time

    You notice in the description stays it fits 1994-2004 Tacomas, right?
