Hey guys, finally gonna lift my baby, Its a 2014 dclb sr5. I bought it back in jan and now its newness wore off and I am ready to start my build.

anyway... I am looking for an excellent performing lift that's 3" and I want a top performing suspension offroad but yet can still grab groceries and drive over the pass for hunting. Basically I am building it to be my all out expedition vehicle. I have been looking at the Fox system and the Icon and I am torn on which lift to get? any pros cons would be great and input from people who have them would be cool...

title mentions toytec but question doesn't. i'll answer anyway!
i love my freshly installed toytec 3" lift. without question it will do any of the things you mention above and being an avid hunter myself i wanted something that did it well.
i'm running 5100's which if anything would be the only suspension improvement i could see myself adding down the road.

sorry yeah its the fox kit off the toytec webpage.
SO your toytec kit performs well on the trail? Have you put it through its paces pretty good? are you saying you already have the 5100's and love them with the toytec 3"?

    Jeff
Id like 3in... those kits are fully adjustable right? so I could crank it to 3"?

i started with 5100's set at 1.75" to level it and to be perfectly honest, appearance aside i was less than impressed with the ride.
set at 0" with the toytec springs doing the heavy lifting is completely ideal. the ride is plush yet athletic feeling. mine sits exactly at 3" which is why i also went with total chaos ucs's. after an alignment it drives exactly as it did previously but has gained a considerable amount of offroad ability which i am just beginning to test over the past couple weeks.
i can only assume better things are to come when a person has better shocks with each incremental price point available as springs aren't going to change that much regardless of cost.

i like my fox fronts quite a bit more than my old man emu (ome) fronts, the ride is better on and off road. there is no way the adjustable bilsteins are as nice as the fox's.

No, but the cost is half. The Fox kit is awesome! You have the 2.0 or 2.5?

all at a cost. personally, i didn't find spending over 3k a priority when a good kit can be purchased for a third of that. i'll happily be buying wheels and tires this coming year with the money i didn't spend. to each their own tho!

I have the 2.0. The bilsteins do sound nice though, I was referring he the 5100's not being as nice as these.

When I said 2.0 & 2.5" shocks, I was referring to their diameter. Both of those options are adjustable from 0-3" in height. ;)

You can get onto some fox 2.0 front and rears for about 1k, pick your preference for the rear leaf setup and you will be all set, well uca's also at 3 inches up front. Ome dakars are really nice leafs imo, but if setting up for expo trips get the Dakar aal with them. Others can talk more about other springs as those are the only ones I've tried on my Tacoma

So Im looking at this kit here.
    http://downsouthmotorsports.com/i-8...coma-2005-2014-in-extended-length-travel.html
I am just looking to increase the ride quality and raise the front a little to level out the truck. It is my daily driver and wont see much offroad. But I do want to have the capabilities if necessary!

My question is do I need to buy anything other than just the coilovers? Is there a better kit that will do the same for a comparable price?
