    Honeycomb composite sleeper platform.
Shop told me they would need to take the top off the shock to replace the preload nut. Does it thread off the bottom? or does one need to use spanner?

    Nope.

Preload nut will have to come off the top of the shock, which will require the top cap to be removed. The threads on the shock body end , so you will not be able to screw it off the other way. See below

Ha that's funny. I wasn't even thinking about that. Of course the body isn't threaded all the way down.

Pulled the trigger on 2.5 RR coil overs with adjusters for the front and 2.0 RR with ajuster shocks in the rear. Big thanks to Tyler @AccuTune Offroad he answered all my questions and got me set for all my needs! Can't wait for them to show up now...

I purchased from bilsteinlifts.com and I have to say, they have awesome customer service. Fox jacked up one of my rear 2.5s during assembly. The resi was going the wrong direction and bilsteinlifts overnighted me a new one.

I just installed the 2.5 DSC all around and the 1.5 icon AAL. I got 2 inches of lift in the rear and 1.75 in the front. Due to the OR already having 1 inch of lift the max you will get is 2 inches in the front. For a total of 3 inches.

Does anybody have the DSC dialed in for on and off road driving? Right now I turned both knobs counter clockwise all the way, then the blue knob clockwise 5 "clicks" and the yellow clockwise 7 "clicks. " it was a kinda rough around town.

@Devinm how do you mean "jacked up a resi". Just curious? The resi can be rotated slightly to remedy some small complaints people have had like decal not facing out ward or the resi facing towards the front and needed towards the rear. Do you have any pics of the issue to maybe help someone better understand. On the adjustment question its basically all driver opinion on that and there probably isn't a magic adjustment for on and off road, hence why they are adjustable so you can quickly change from highway driving to rough off road with just a few clicks. It would be hard to answer that question so if you feel its to hard/stiff driving add a few more clicks and give it another go until your happy

The one on the left should look like the one on the right. The fitting coming out of the main body should be facing 180° the other direction.

So you had it already torn down when you found it? That would really suck the happiness out of that install. Glad to hear that got you fixed up. These fox shocks are night and day better over factory aren't they? I have played with mine a little just to get it where I want and after a few drives my friends want to upgrade their rides to the fox because they said their trucks feels like bricks in comparison .

I'm not ganna lie...I definitely started to panic. Haha. So far I'm happy with them but still need to figure out my wheel and tire situation.

Looking back at this thread, I saw you posted pictures of yours. Just curious, what the measurement of threads you have showing or thread count on the left and right front?

Did you use your SPCs to adjust caster and any issues with rubbing? Did you CMC?

I can imagine because I would be the same way lol. On the thread count you could probably see where mine is set from my media I have posted on my account but it is about 1 3/4 " on driver side and only slightly less on passenger side to accommodate the all to known taco lean. From top hat to bottom eyelet its about 21" when sitting on the ground. I did use the spc to get the fitment perfect as well as alignement (seeing as they can do camber and caster)and based on the sheet they come with they are spot on with everything they say, like setting caster on the lower arms fully forward and fine tuning using the spc.I did not do a cab mount chop but did use a heat gun to press the factory mudflaps in a bit for better clearance during full articulation. I also decided to trim the air dam because it hit/touched the tire (while turning)slightly when at stock length and with it removed the front bar was visible and I didn't like it. So for trimming it was the air damn about in half and a heat gun for the mud flaps. Otherwise everything is great and no rubbing with my FN wheels on 285-70R17 aka dirty 3s . These shocks are amazing once fine tuned and I have zero regrets, plus weight reduction based on the wallet :fistbump:. What is your wheel and tire setup as of now and what issues are you running into if any?

Almost done, just need to get a spring compressor and then that’s all. Let me tell you, not a walk in the park, but totally worth it just to learn about the internals and how they’re put together. A little before and after.

But one question, silver or black springs?

Whats up guys? had a quick question. I just recieved my front 2.5 Fox RR coilovers from @AccuTune Offroad. Still waiting on the rear shocks with RR's. But I was wondering if I could somehow adjust the preload for a 2"- 2.5" lift before I install them on the truck? NOTE: I did have them use the eibach 650lb springs for possible added weight in the future and to possibly prevent sag.
Id rather not have to take them off and put them back on multiple times to nail my desired ride height. I understand that my goal is to reach 21" total coilover length (tophat to bottom of shock). But Im assuming ill have to adjust them quite a bit based on how I recieved them from @AccuTune Offroad. @1TACOTONY you said about 1 3/4 on both sides? Tells me ill need to adjust this passenger down quite a bit. But may be not because of the 650lb springs??

Also, @1TACOTONY. In reference to another post. Im running BFG KO2s 285/75/r16's currently on stock ride height with minimal trimming like you did. (Air dam, etc) I used TRD Pro 4 runner rims with a -13 mm offset I believe.

Not sure about your springs but,
Find yourself a mom and pop mechanic shop that has a spring compressor that won't charge you to use. Don't bother with renting one from Auto Zone. It's pretty sketchy.
Call those little hole in the wall shops.

I also don't have any issues with adjusting the preload while still on the truck jacked up. On the driver side I'm at 1 3/4" of threads and on the passenger side 1 9/16". Im still sitting 1/8" higher on the passenger side.

    Are you installing yourself?

Yea, I was gonna install myself. The 650lb springs are already installed on coilover setup from accutune. Do you have 600lb springs or 650?
So you had no problem adjusting the preload while the coilovers are still installed? I read that remote resevoirs get in the way of the spanner wrench.

    I have 600lbs.
I bought a punch set from harbor freight and used the 5/16" punch with an extension pipe I had laying around. On the driver side I ran into an issue with the preload ring not turning after a half turn. I took it off and started calling all the shops in the area and got lucky with a spring compressor. I adjusted it some and installed it back on and had no issues making additional adjustments.

The spanner wrench is worthless. We turned the ring by hand when the spring was compressed.

Make sure the set screw is exposed before installing.
