    I'm assuming there's no way to use the reservoir mounts without drilling into some metal? Not worried about frame issues, just lazy and after drilling and grinding my old hangars off, the thought of drilling more holes keeps me up at night.

    the rear reservoir shocks come with metal brackets to secure the reservoirs. My problem, and I assume many other people have had the same issue, is that the shock rotates over time and the hose eventually contacts the tire, making a fun beehive sound. So I just ordered the suggested kit and I’ll drill one small hole in my frame to secure the reservoirs. It should also make my adjusted easier to reach. Here is the out-of-the-box set up.

    I have those same shocks waiting to be installed. Also have the brackets previously mentioned to avoid the exact problem you mentioned or the one I see more often where the shock body rotates the other way and causes the valving to contact the shock mount on the frame. I was hoping there'd be a way to avoid drilling because it is spooky but if not, oh well. Soon as I get my leaf springs prepped I should be ready to install.

    just got back from picking up taco... New Fox 2.5's, 0-3.. i set the preload myself from what ive read from numerous post,, 2 1/4 inches of threads showing, with the 1 inch rear block, the front sits 1/2 higher than rear, hopefully it settles the 1/2 in.to be level, if not i wll adjust them down a bit,tons of room for 285's now... alignment next .. Looks like a lot of preload, fox told me no more than 1.75” of thread..

    accutune says no more than 21” from top hat to center of bottom shock eyelet..

    ive read post where other's said they called fox, about preload , like this guy. others as well, that called Fox with 2.5 showing, they were told it was fine.. my ride is great, ill probably take some preload off, prolly have just under 2 in. preload,, i wanted more then i needed, because im sure it will be easier to take some preload off, rather than adding some ..

    from hundreds of post, dozens of people with the 0-3's.. this... 1in. showing = 1 in. lift... 2 in. showing = 2 in. lift ... 3 in. showing = 3 in. lift...
    prolly why they are 0-3 in. lift coilovers...

    quote{Spoke to Fox today and was told to go off the comparison of prelift measurements to measurements after the install. He said that thread count isn't a consistently accurate way to measure how much lift the coil-overs provide. Told him I had about 3" of thread showing and he said I should be good. Asked about the possibility of coil binding before full compression and I was told that I shouldn't worry about that. Without any additional weight on the front, as long as I stay below the 3" range the coil-over will perform as designed.}

    no i have not measured, i have to pull wheels, paint and undercoat each side, take a 1/4 in preload off, each side and see where im at , till i get leveled. dont want rake. im thinking just under 2 in. threads, to be level with my 1 in. in rear block,, i like my general tires, gonna get a set of 285's

    A question for those Fox 2.0 owners, they come preset at 2” lift but there’s only one option for 1st gen owners. 2” of lift on a regular cab isn’t going to be 2” of lift on a dcsb with a v6.

    I got an inch of lift on my dcsb v6 with 4wd, how many turns equal an inch? Is adjusting them a trial and error thing?

    so i noticed this, this am o-ring pushed out,, wtf... the shock can move back and forth on the bushing alot , caused the o-ring to come out, the OEM foxs arnt like that.. these can move back and forth on the bushing quite abit.. thats gonna cause the o-ring to get forced out. this happen to anyone , just had them installed yesterday20200624_092313.jpg

    had my shop remove bottom bolt and push o-ring back in place, hope it does not happen again, took some preload off,, 1 5/8 in threads showing, giving my Pro 1 1/5 in over stock.. with my 1 in. rear block i have 1/2 in rake. shocks ride awesome

    Wondering how he can say that thread count isn't accurate lol. Threads per inch....unless their shock bodies utilize a different TPI, I'm pretty sure threads is the same as measuring.

    How so? Lets assume every 10 threads measures 1". And if every 1" on the shock body raises or lowers the vehicle x"s, then that also means that every 10 threads will accomplish the same.

    Individual vehicle weight and specific spring rate will factor in to how much lift is achieved.
