@wi_taco one more question do I just loosen the lock screw on the collar one full turn before adjusting?

Full disclosure: I don't have my Fox shocks yet so I can't tell you from real-world experience. Take that for what you will.

See this article on AccuTune's site for a synopsis:

I turned the lock screw to expose maybe 1/8" of threads. Don't need much. That article previously linked has a good breakdown of the steps.

Those Harbor Frieght punches are the ones. I like them way more than the spanner, even if I could use it. Good arm workout.

So I should just loosen it slightly?

Yes. Only a few turns. If it is still difficult to rotate the collar (and you've already applied PB Blaster or equivalent) then loosen it another turn. The danger is if you loosen it too much then the collar can jump threads which can damage them, your truck, or you in extreme cases.

As someone on here had suggested, I simply purchased a 5/16” steel rod from Home Depot (no Harbor Freight in HI) and cut it to size.

    Inexpensive and worked great.

    Edit for link: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-5-16-in-x-12-in-Stainless-Steel-Threaded-Rod-800787/204604790

IIRC I think it was like three turns for me.

I ended up doing a full rotation and it was enough I kept applying PB blaster after every full turn of the collar worked great. Only gripe I have is that the 5/16 punch wouldn't fit on the passenger coilover so I ended up using the quarter inch one it was slightly lose but it turned so I guess it is what it is lol.

Interesting that the 5/16 punch didn't fit on both sides. I don't have that issue.

I tried it once I was done but I had to tap it in and then I couldn't remove it so i ended up spraying pb blaster on it and spinning it back and forth with a vise grip until I could pull it out lol.

Got my 2.5 extended coilovers on. The ride is absolutely amazing. Still playing with the high and low speed compression but it’s a fun process for sure.

Finally got mine installed and there's definitely a ride difference I'm comfort. I had a he'll of a time mounting the reservoirs though had to use zip ties to hold it close enough and some zip ties to maneuver the hose so I could tighten the hose clamps on.

Wait a sec I emailed you guys the same day and this wasn’t mentioned as an option in the reply on 3/2? This would have been like $430 cheaper since I wouldn’t need to buy the eibach coils 14x600 and the elite series shocks are already a little cheaper. I live in Colorado where they dump salt all over because nobody can drive here.

I can’t help but feel like I should have been told these are a thing (was given only factory series part numbers) and that the elite series matches my needs better?

now I’m kinda stuck with the ones I have I assume because they’re custom tuned but :annoyed:

do I have any options @AccuTune Offroad?

I'm in the process of ordering a new suspension for my 2nd gen. I'm currently running Deaver Expedition Series Rear Springs, Stage 3. Wondering if I could run these for additional droop: https://www.bilsteinlifts.com/shop/...rear-lift-shocks-2005-2022-toyota-tacoma-4wd/
Only considering it because the vendor is out of the 2-3 inch lift shocks.

Or would I be causing damage to the 3.5-5 inch shocks?

    Thanks for any advice!

Accutune, could you advise? Might be rolling with you guys on rears here if this isn't a recommended substitute on rears.

Feel free to send us a message for specific questions. The main things you need to consider with long shocks, is getting the correct bump stop height and adequate up travel at ride height. Too long of a shock you may be limited in up travel and then not be able to use all the travel.

Already placed an order with you guys last night, thanks! Do you know how long the production timeline is currently looking for 117's?
