A bit of a newbie question... By increasing preload, you get more lift. Am I correct with this? And by increasing preload, do you get less up and down travel, which also could putt less stress on UCA's etc?

When it comes time for that I will buy another set of Fox’s so I have spares to switch out. It will make me feel like I’m on the Fox Factory Team.

Very nice. Are you going to rebuild them and keep them as spares, or just have them chillin?

Technically yes.. the more you crank your collar down (increasing ‘preload’) you increase ride height. You get less down travel the higher you go. Up travel has increased slightly since the bumpstops will still be the limiting factor there. Aftermarket UCAs will allow for a bit more down travel then factory UCAs. The factory uca ball joint will be your limiting factor in down travel when you increase ride height. Aftermarket ucas also allow for caster and camber adjustments that get thrown outa whack with lift. Hope that helps

Trying to identify where this creaking noise is coming from after speed bumps or compression of the spring after install. Inside the truck it sounds like its from the front. Any ideas? Something need to be lubed up?

I'll check on lunch break. But silicon spray makes for a good tool to hunt down noises. Spray one suspect area at a time

So I just got my fox 2.0 coil overs and rears with reservoirs.
I am waiting on my sos slimline bumper to install everything all at once.
How should I lift my rear? I don’t Offroad not do I carry a lot on my bed (once in a while I’ll put couple hundred pounds of loads to carry from store to home but nothing major.

Should I just do an add a leaf or a whole leaf pack is a better option? Or even blocks?
I’m not worried about cost but I also know my limits and what I’ll use my truck for

90% sure, that is your sway bar rubbing against your skid plate. Swaybar relocate bracket pushes it too far down and it contacts the skid.

Not sure what that is. But it doesn’t sound like it’s coming from the coilover or the UCA. It’s after the fact. I have the same coilovers and the pro skid too. I haven’t had any contact issues with the sway bar and skid. But I’d check and make sure the sway bar relocate bolts are tight..

Did you have a CMC done?

This was my exact issue after re-installing the swaybar with the relocate kit. No factory splash guard but my Mobtown IFS skid needed an angle grinder taken to it in the center on a piece of metal that reinforces the skid. Shaved some metal off. Sound gone.

It was happening before skid plate install.

    Thanks will check those bolts

I just started to think it was UCA after rewatching again. The closeup shot of the spring shows the creaking just as the UCA is moving.

I have a CMC getting done on Monday.

Might remove sway bar and skid and test.

Ok.. honestly it’s strange.. the noise seems delayed. I had noises after my cmc but it was the body mount washers creaking against the cmc plates..

    ok a noob question::anonymous:
I got the 2.5 rr dsc with TWO dials on the rr. (1st gen DCSB, custom plate bumper, winch, skids which connect to the bumper and the frame)

The preload is as set from the factory.

Ran DVNP and the Saline wash boards are legendary.

I didn't adjust anything and now I was thinking that that would have been the best place to do it..

So can someone explain the dials?

Well after wheeling with a similar setup for a year this happened to me Friday afternoon. I'm guessing the shock turned a bit towards the axle through flexing over time and the resi made contact. Fortunately the contact pushed the reservoir towards the wheel and I heard the rub immediately. No damage because it was at a very low speed but I'm probably going to invest in some aftermarket bump stops today, have been meaning to for awhile anyway.
