I bought a full Fox setup from HeadStrong about 7 months ago. Had them installed locally by a professional 4x4 shop. One of the rear shocks started leaking fluid within a month. I was hoping it was just an initial seeping but it continued and got worse. I've called Fox several times and they refuse to send a new shock even though mine has less than 3500 miles on it. They want me to incur the costs of removing a shock, storing my truck, and shipping it back to them.
    great warranty Fox!

It won't be much different if you buy shocks from another company. You could always throw stock shocks back on while waiting for Fox to inspect the shocks.

No shock company is going to do what you speak of.

none of this says they cant/wont send you a replacement part for something that fails way sooner than it should

No, most of them say manufacture defect from a disclosed amount of time. That’s the warranty. If it’s defective when you send it in they usually send you a replacement, but if they chalk it up to install error or abuse or the works, then your SOL. That’s what it says...
The only way to figure out if they accept it as manufacture defect is to send it in. If it’s able to be rebuilt then that might be the next option. Not that expensive all things considered.

Their warranties state that you send the shock back to them, not that they give you one and then you may return yours for repair.

Its not that I dont beleive you - its that I think its a shitty way to do business.
I would rather them give me the option to have a new shock sent and hold my CC info until the old one arrives. when it does if its 'my fault' they just charge my CC

At least then my truck isnt down for weeks.
An I already checked - there are no local shops that are 'certified' by Fox to work on them. It has to be removed and shipped back to them. Which means I either have a truck I cant drive for who knows how long, or I buy a cheap set of rear shocks to install. I have a rear lift so the originals wont work [and I tossed them anyway because they had 55k on them]

A cheap shock will work to get you through the week. Just don't do any wheeling and you will be fine.

It's all part of modding your truck. The alternative is to leave it stock.

Also any shop that is competent in rebuilding a shock can do the work in an hour or 2.

Dude stop overthinking it. No shock company is going to give you a brand new shock for a $2 seal. Just pull the rear shock off, send it back, let them fix it, and run without a rear shock. You aren't going to hurt anything driving to the grocery store and back with one missing rear shock. Hell I drove mine for 3 months without both rear shocks.

Get icons. Same deal. Better performance.
Also. High performance shocks are like trophy wife’s. Great to look at and quick response when riding but high maintenance and cost.

This is so freaking stupid. Think a car company will send you a new car if your motor pops without looking at it at a dealer ? “That’s shitty business” BAHAHA

I actually agree. I was totally there but realized 90% of my off road was washer board and ruts and 100% of my on road was driving too fast in the corners so I went with digressive shocks.

Seems fair to me. They're rebuildable shocks. Send it back for repair. If they send you a new shock, the one you send back is considered used and it goes to the scratch and dent pile and they lose money. So why wouldnt they want to rebuild yours? And like someone else said, it's a risk you should be aware of when deciding to mod your truck with high performance shocks. Need to assume they will have to be rebuilt at some point anyway, are you expecting them to send you new shocks before you take yours in to be rebuilt?
