Yep that's a wash board road all right and yep I've seen that here in Cali just like I've seen it in many other states.
This particular section looks pretty aggressive though.

Here's a sweet pic of you tackling the trail and putting those Icons to good use
Those washboard roads don't stand a chance.

So how does Fox handle hitting bumps at higher speeds? How does Icon ride with their 650# spring rate and ET's on rocks/mud/streets at slow speeds? Can you run mid travel with stock UCA's? @ICONRep

So are you admitting to speeding up when approaching speed bumps?

I'm guilty as charged and not afraid to admit it :anonymous:

Ill have to go out and take pictures of some logging roads for the so cal guys lol

The hills are so steep you have to use 4wd and the wash boards going up hill are more like steps...

Stock suspension gets raped... Thanks for all the great info still sounds like their is no clear winner..

I will most likely go with Fox however because of
    • the softer ride at lower speeds, I can't go nascar fast in the woods or curvy mountain roads
    • the rebuild seems to be easier
    • Rednecks think since they put Fox on a raptor its gotta be the best. I think it may increase my resell better than Icon because more people have heard of them.
    • its a few hundro cheaper
It will most likely be a few weeks before I do anything as I also need tires soon... but need the lift before tires so the tires will fit...

Also keep the debate going but try to keep between the shocks not why you need a suspension in the first place, looking at you pre runner guys :bikewhoops:

I am in the same boat. I tagged an Icon rep in my last post, so maybe we can get some more info. Originally I though I would go digressive, but now after thinking about it for a WHILE, Fox could be a better fit, as there are not really sand dunes out here, and most of the offroading I would do would be on the slower side. I know some vendors will re-valve shocks for free one time, so that might be an option with Icon. Also 265/75/16 is a great tire size that doesn't completely kill your mpg's and still looks good with a lift.

Glad to see at least one person in the same boat! I feel like a lot of people are stuck between the two, but my wheels right now are 18s which may or may not totally deplete the purpose of an off road suspension we will have to wait and see lol

Anyone else been snowboarding? Going slow over the washboards loads up the hips, and beats up my bad knees. Speeding up allows me to expend less energy over the washboard because my momentum carries me up and over the lowest points of the washboard terrain. This loads up my hips and knees less. Same concept.
