Both are great products, I ran Fox on a few trucks in the past and was happy with them. I am currently running Kings and personally think the quality and finish of the Kings is better then the Fox, as far as the ride quality goes I dont think you could tell the difference. In my opinion you are comparing apples to apples.

Call customer service on both brand shocks. That will seal the deal. One company is great at customer service, the other sucks ass.

Fox has better components (very slightly, not something you will notice outside racing) but their OEM customer service sucks a fat one. More importantly to me, King has better part and third-party support in the wild so you'll very likely be back on the road quicker if you fuck something up.

All that said I have a Fox 2.5 setup waiting to be installed because the $500 deal at wheelwell split between two orders made the entire kit like $1400. My point is price rules all because the odds of me breaking a 2.5 shock before something else is pretty slim.

I’m looking for the best ride quality. I’m leaning towards the fox rn because honestly I hate the color the kings come in.

You won't notice any difference in that case because both will be a product of their valving and both can be valved to be comparable. Out of the box they're a compromise so you will need to buy from someone that will fix that valving to meet your needs.

If you are dropping good coin on these, someone like Accutune or Filthy Motorsports would be able to get the Kings in whatever color combo and valving you want and can custom valve Fox too. The only requirement is that you need to buy resi shocks because tuning an emulsion shock is a PITA. If you aren't bothering to re-valve, you might as well just buy some mid-grade Bilsteins.

Color is always a high criteria for picking a pricey, critical function product that you'll use every time you drive the vehicle. Every. Single. Time.

Not saying Fox isn't right for you in terms of function or budget. But color should only be a decision point if every other factor is equal.

Get ADS. Not as popular with the brosephs, but they actually use the same parts bin as their racing shocks.

This ^. ADS is better quality than fox and king, plus they’re a small company with great customer service.

Best recommendation on the thread so far, I ordered my King 4A system from you guys and couldn't be happier. Very knowledgeable, and great customer service. Built the system to fit my exact needs. If you are trying to decide which shocks are best for you these are the guys to contact.

If color is your biggest concern while spending 5-7-10k on suspension you should probably just leave your truck alone.

I just went through some repairs with a fox shock, it was not terrible, but there was zero communication. Though every time I called, I got the same person... I think there is just a single person working the phones there. Took about a month to get my shock repaired.
