My father has an 03 Tundra, and the coating from Toyota lasted about 5 years as well. His frame is in much better shape, no rot holes, etc. I can't believe a Toyota dealership would patch a frame and pass it! It is illegal to have a patched frame in RI ( or all least many inspection stations frown upon have a frame patched).
What's this number you speak of? :spy:

So I looked it's 800-331-4331 looked it up on the web customer experience call center.
Not sure how legal it is either in Vt. Kinda wondering who's telling the truth about warranty? The dealer is gonna get paid by Toyota why turn down work? Toyota rocks standing behind their stuff.

Nice grill man your rig is pretty clean looks good!
    Love the reg cab.

Cool, thanks for the number. I still wouldn't trust a patched frame, but if the owner is okay with it...

Thanks! You have the bronze TRD beadlock wheels?

I have no idea, I haven't been back since I started this thread.

If you have a pretty clean frame (or light surface rust) I would still use Fluid Film/WoolWax/Surface Shield. If you have have rust scale build up, I would clean that off before spraying anything.

i am searching the northeast forums for anybody that has had their Tacoma worked on by the autorust techs

I am not a fan of the undercoating job that they did, but in years since, I have seen the pieces they make for frames, and those seem to be of nice quality (I have never installed anything like that).
