His original post is clear as day. It only takes a small amount of common sense to figure out what happened just from looking at the pics. But then, "some old man slammed into my truck in the parking lot, moving the truck over a couple feet."

    Reading comprehension is hard...

Really? Happy to compare SAT scores, reading comprehension test results, and post graduate degrees anytime. Sorry for my perceived stupidity, but apparently I'm not the only one that didn't fully understand the original post.

Thanks, but the pictures are what initially confuse the situation. Seeing a vehicle with right side damage and another car parked next to its right are what created the confusion. At first glance, it appears the Mazda was somehow involved in the accident. The piling on with the "bad parking" comments was uncalled for.

Speaking from experience, you can express a strong preference for OEM and "new" parts... And they'll usually do it to keep you happy unless there's a significant price differential. Then you'll have to argue. The newer the truck is, the more likely that they're only going to use OEM (older vehicles have more aftermarket parts available).

Ultimately it depends on your persuasiveness, but also your insurance and the body shop and a bunch of shit outside of your control :)
