If you don't have the equipment or a way to do a frame swap, it's going to be a lot more work, maybe even more than patching

If you're on flat ground the cinder blocks are perfectly safe, considering it is just the cab. But on any other terrain yeah pass.

OP, please do not let this one lie. In these situations persistence usually pays off. Make this the dealer’s problem, big time. It certainly shouldn’t be yours.

No warranty is fine, but if you sell a vehicle that had frame rust then I don't the dealer's gonna get a free pass on this one. They probably will work with the OP though.

Looking forward to hearing updates on how the dealership handles this.

OP, if you DO decide to swap out the frame it's possible to do it much more quickly without pulling the engine. That's the technique we used for my frame swap. Here's a video that shows how to do it on a Tundra but the basic process is the same:

    Best of luck!

Get a bid from the dealer for the frame swap. Your suit is purchase price + repair costs. The limit in tennesee is 25k. Small claims is usually a nominal fee, you dont need but are allowed an attorney. All you need to do is convince 1 person that the dealer sold you an unsafe vehicle. Once a judge rules, that's it. If the judge awards the full damages they have no recourse besides appeal. Since small claims only has the power to award cash, if you win you'll still have the truck + the cash. If the dealer doesn't show you win by default. And if you lose you're only out the filing fee.

So I am def leaning hard on doing this frame swap after taking a hammer to the frame!! woah buddy.

The frame I can pick up is a 2004 xtra cab V6 Auto. So everything is the same except for the transmission. Is it a bolt in swap? Or do the transmissions mount differently?

I hope you're documenting what you find with more photos for your future 'conversations' with the dealer!

Good choice, I can tell from the pics that welding your current frame is a waste of time, there's no metal left!
