I have been reading old threads concerning this issue - and am worried the spraying, or "lipstick on a pig" helped get me past the deadline and now Im stuck with a rusted out frame.
Truck is a 2003 Dbl Cab 4WD... I did take it in for the recall and they said it looked great and sprayed it. Now it's broke and I mean the shock mount area is a mess. I have no recollection when it was inspected and sprayed (date wise) but Im sure Toyota has a record of it.
Does anybody think I have a chance to do anything with Toyota or what course of action should I take ?
Thank you for any and all suggestions.. I'm at a loss

Bring it in. If it was sprayed, they have the record and will give you a new frame. might take some time but they will have you contact corporate and they will get the process started. Call your local dealer. sometimes the dealers are a pain in the ass, so if they are get the corporate number.

    No buy out for you...

The last of the 2002's are starting to become too old and timing out for warranty coverage but the 03's and 04's are still very much covered! Remember if the frame was inspected/coated on time, which it sounds like yours was, you have 15 years of coverage from the in service date, so reguardless of when your truck rolled off the lot its definitely still in the time frame for coverage!

Your in New Jersey so I would guess the rest of the Frame is toast as well

If you were in a Area of not having a Winter I would say just fix it and be done

These Pot holes and Frost Heaves are brutal

Ok so here it is so far. Made the call to service dept. and they said Thursday - Took it in this AM and started the process. He did not want me to take it with one missing shock so I have a loaner. Word comes from Toyota as early as tomorrow on replacement authorization. He said he sees no reason it wont be approved and they can get frame ordered. Delivery time on frame could be 30 days at LEAST. I also mentioned to him I had a Supreme Suspensions 2" rear 3" front suspension lift and wondered if they could put that in while doing frame - And he sad absolutely. So thats kind of cool. Going to start a new thread in a minute to talk about shock choices as they will be renewed as well. This all obviously hinges on the call from Toyota but what could they say other than yes... ? Thanks for the replies and I'll update this thread as news emerges.

Update - No word yet on what is going to happen from Toyota, they haven't gotten back to dealer yet. But change of plans on suspension upgrades if they put a new frame in.
Going with TOYTEC Boss kit with the 550 front springs - Also after driving this loaner with double din size radio with Bluetooth phone and everything I have picked a new Pioneer stereo I will be installing !

Dont feel bad about the 30 days atleast thing some guys have had to wait months till a frame finally came in. Im assuming it was a supply and demand thing at the height of the replacements but who knows. Definitely cool to get a new frame and all the shit along with it!!

Another update - Just got the call. Frame is ordered and he asked me to start gathering the parts I want to add to truck during rebuild. He told me frame could be 3 weeks away, or as long as two months. I have to talk to corporate about getting my parts ordered... (my wife). Im so happy - with a daughter in college and another a year away from being there too, I didn't need a car payment ! So Im just going to fix up the Taco and roll with it. Maybe even revisit the blue lights in instrument cluster project I thought about a while back !
