Just received my letter from Toyota yesterday in regards to possible frame CRC treatment and frame replacement for the 2011-17. I was told to look for a follow up letter at a later date. Guess I’ll have another truck getting that Nasty-Ass, black gooey shit spray treatment. They actually bought back my 2000 Tacoma. I bought in 2003 and drove it for 7 years. I paid 13k for it and they bought it back for 11,774.50...I made out like a bandit. Then my 05 Tacoma received the shit spray treatment which was a joke to say the least. I would like to know how much money Toyota has spent on frame replacements and buy-backs and frame treatments . I would think that by now they would be using a better steel for their frames.

If only these guys would have spent the extra coin to get their frames hot dip galvanized then they wouldn't be having the problem they are having today with these frames.

The steel isn't the problem. Its their lack of treatment on the metal which comes back to bite them in the ass.

I got my letter last week too. I'm not really wanting to go the CRC route but it says it will void the extended warranty if you don't. I've kept mine oiled/Fluid Filmed since I got it, in 2015. The truck was a year old then and my frame still looks pretty much new.
What would all of you recommend???

I have krown do mine every fall, but I did toyotas CRC a year or so ago as well. Dealer told me if I didn't do the crc, then I would be denied a frame if it ever needed one. My frame on my 2010 is in excellent condition and I attribute that to krown.

I’m in the same situation, I fluid film mine the day I brought it home from the dealer and reapply every fall. I have more faith in myself and my ability to continue to keep it rust free, so no need for the dealers coating or warranty. It’s a individual choice.
