Frame PLugs (04002-07104)

I saw a post that referenced the "Toyota Plug Kit 04002-07104" which apparently plugs up a bunch of the holes in the frame. Are these plugs supposed to be installed by the factory, or are they an add-on after? Is there a diagram that shows where the plugs in the kit go? My frame has some holes plugged, but there are some open on the frame; I'm trying to figure out if those plugs got lost and if this kit would have the replacements in it, or if there never were any plugs in those holes by design...

 

Try google search, I have seen it somewhere before. If you have a Tacoma and no front air dam spoiler like the OR and the Pro and its a 2017 I think, then you should be good to go. I could be wrong on the year. I have an 18, pull off the spoiler and no issues. Mine had some plugs, however I bought some from the dealership and put in a plug on each side, I followed the tsb and the pics to make sure I got the correct hole, careful not to do the lowest hole as water can get trapped in and rust. Looking now for the link.

 

I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing. This is an assortment of like at least 20 various plugs that from my understanding go all over the frame. I think some of them are shown in this post: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/07-build-questions-do-you-have-the-answers.534400/#post-17174189 (but note, that is a gen2) but I'm still trying to figure out all the holes in the frame that should have plugs in them.

 

Gotcha.Thought you were talking about holes that were causing whistling sounds as air getting trapped in the cross members. Your question is a new one to me.

Has some really good info on this type of part. FWIW, I know some are plugged on mine, but I don’t know what all is included in that part number.
