They'd be better off spraying something similar to a Krown undercoating. I've always used that product on my cars and it easily lasts a few years before it needs to be re-applied.

My 2nd Gen had the coating done as well from Toyota and in less than a year it was flaked off with rust all over the place. Nothing more than a product that makes your frame look shiny for a few months.

Do you undercoat it? I'm in Ottawa and have always used Krown on my cars. I'm always surprised at how fast the undercarriage rusts.

When I got my new frame in January of this year, I had only driven it about 500km and by March it already had rust on it.

I have not done any professional undercoating. I was going to use some fluid film but wasn’t sure how long it would last while 4x4ing basically thought it wasn’t worth the hassle and cost for the longevity of the product. But maybe I was wrong.

It might and might not be for you. I dont have any experience with fluid film, but I've heard great things.

I myself have always used Krown, it continues to seep into seams and crevices and repells water (doesnt trap it).

Seriously. I went back to slc for a week I’m December. My rear suspension was 100% rust when I got home.

Yes, once the campaign officially starts, you can get the CRC applied. However if you neglect to get the CRC applied within the first 2 years, then you will not have the 12 year coverage. Your coverage would only be for 3yr/36k

For anyone curious, I brought my 2016 to the dealer for an unrelated issue. They informed me there was a recall on my truck for the frame and wanted to keep it for a few days while they set me up in a loaner. They performed a visual inspection, ordered a bunch of plastic plugs for holes in the frame, sprayed inside the front boxed section of the frame, and sealed any seams in the channel section of the frame. Seems like a white grease/oil. It made for a nice PITA when I was installing my frame sliders today.
