When I got my letter for the frame recall on my 2006 Tacoma they mentioned something in there about a possible refund for any rustproofing that you may have done in the past. Also something about a refund if you replaced leaf springs due to them cracking. Have any of you contacted Toyota about this? If so did they refund you any money? Just had my frame done and I was going to call corporate to see you what they were willing to do. I think I paid 400 dollars for the rustproofing job, can't remember the what the springs cost me.

I bought the truck used with 40,000 miles on it in 2009. Took it to a place that sprays the frame, under carage ect. This cost me $400. It didn't help much because the frame still rusted out bad enough to be recalled by Toyota. Toyota replaced my frame last week and from what I understand they will also reimburse Tacoma owners for any rustproofing that they paid for in the past. I was just wondering if anyone has been refunded any money and how it all worked out.

You really should've brought that up to them at the time you got your frame replaced.
But, if you have sufficient receipts and proof that you had it done - doesn't hurt to try.

    I wouldn't hold your breathe......

I told the service manager at the time I had the frame replaced and he told me I have to contact corporate to get the refund. I am just curious if anyone on here has done it and what the procedure is like. I hope I still have my receipt...

I had not heard about the rustproofing. As far as the spring recall, my dealer doing the frame swap told me as long as I had receipts for the rear leafs we changed out, she would get me some money back. She said reimbursed, but I am not holding my breathe to get a set of All-Pro Expos on one, plus a set of Dakars on another plus labor paid back, but sure would be nice...

I picked up a set of leaf springs on Craigslist off of a guy that was putting a lift on his new Tacoma. Not sure how I can work a receipt on that one but I will try. It would be nice to get a few bucks back from Toyota on this, I have some body rust starting that I would like to take care of before it gets out of hand. Could use the refund money to cover the cost of that I guess.
