I'd like to hear opinions on this radiator support bushing. Dealership just replaced my frame(recall) and said the bushings were "fine".

I wouldn’t say that bushing is fine, I would really like to talk to them about their definition of fine.

The dealer was obviously BS-ing you. They probably thought you wouldn’t look under there...shameful.

Not even close to fine, keep us informed and post dealers response. If they try weaseling out of it an email to corporate with pictures would be your next step.

Idk, wouldn't the OP have to pay for any worn items to be replaced? I'm curious. After the dealer told the OP "it's fine" you know he went straight to the back of the shop and said "hold my beer and watch this". Lol

Alderman's Toyota in Rutland. A little bit of a odd transaction from the start with them saying that they would have to charge me for handling of my aftermarket parts, but wouldn't be able to tell me how much it would cost until all the parts are already removed. I ultimately took everything off before dropping the truck off to avoid any potential added expenses.

I sent a claim to corporate. Will see what they say.

Yes they should have it formed you of the bushing/s. But you guys up north knowing the most of the parts attached to the frame are shit because of the salt, (hence frames being replaced) need to take some owners ship in saying hey I’d like these parts(may not be covered) replaced also since the body being off the frame(make a list even if you have to pay for parts) then confirm it’s done. As you know( at least from what you see in these threads the northern dealerships apparently suck). But yes they should have informed about the bushings and any others parts that needing replacing covered or not. Good luck.

The bushings aren't part of the recall and every customer encountered gets mad when you try to sell them.

You got an entire frame for an old truck. Good luck.

I bought all new cab mounts and core support bushings for when they replace my frame. I even bought new OEM bolts that hold the mounts to the frame, so they don’t even have to take the old mounts off the frame. I plan to do a bunch of stuff to make it easier on the techs. One of the things I plan to do is take out all the bed bolts and put never seize on them. I’ve had the front ones out to install D rings and they were a bitch.

I never stated I expected them to replace them for free. I would expect the labor to be free because they literally have to remove them from the frame and reinstall. They called me with over $600 is suggested repairs, but bushings wasn't on the list. They want to nickel and dime every other part on the truck, but can't mention an actual part that should be replaced.

    Update:
Spoke to Toyota corporate today. They were very vague and indirect. They said they were sending my complaint back to the dealership for the customer service manager to contact me. Now waiting for their call.

Not rust. Copper anti-seize is everywhere.
