so, I just dropped my truck off to have my leaf springs replaced, and the steering wheel recall done, as well as having the frame inspected.
Well, the original service advisor that I set it up with no longer works here, and didn't put anything in the report.

The new service advisor said that my truck doesn't have anything listed on the recall for the frame, and that the recall expired last year.
I received a couple notices specifically for my frame last year, but life would not allow me any free time during business hours to drop my truck off.

I'm going to try and dig up one of those notices, but has this happened to anyone else? They just announced the recall recently, doesn't make sense that they'd stop it so soon?

the current frame "recall" is a lawsuit that is still in process

    Makes sense.
Guess I'll just have to wait patiently.
    Thanks for the input!

I got another recall notice not long ago. Going to try and get the truck in to see what's what.

Took my truck in for the leaf spring recall and to have the frame inspected for possible replacement under the recall and the dude said I was SOL as the lawsuit was already settled. Been researching and from what ive seen it should be honored within 12 years of manufacture or 1 year after final decision regarding the lawsuit. Dude said theyd check it out anyways, I guess ill cross that bridge when I come to it based on their findings. I bought the truck October of last year before the 2017 cutoff so I should still qualify. Best of luck to you

The "dude" was wrong--the "recall" is over but the class action suit was finalized on May 21st (click here). What remains is for Toyota to get their act together and provide their dealers with the appropriate procedures, codes, etc. so that they can begin to implement the Frame Inspection and Replacement Program (FIRP) required by the Settlement Agreement and Final Order. As you bought your truck before 12/2/2016 you are a class member and your truck eligible for the FIRP...

I thought the recall was closed , if you didn't have it done in the allotted time you are too late now . I think it's been closed

As I said in my message just above yours the "recall" is closed, but the class action lawsuit filed in 2014 (for 2005 to 2010 Tacomas) was just finalized a bit over a week ago. There is some confusion because many have received the class action settlement notice postcard and believe it is, or refer to it as, a "recall notice"

Can't people with the frame issues just call TOYOTA and get the info from the horse's mouth??

Not once lawyers get involved--the settlement agreement makes the law firm and claims group the official source...
