Nice! I can vouch for Joe being a stand up quality guy. Glad for you it was salvageable.

I wish this Tacoma a long life ahead. When you've got it repaired, please keep it coated.

My repair is costing me $4K. They're supposed to start working on it the week after next. Are they going to fluid film the frame too? They're going to that to my frame as part of the repair. Jus thought I'd mention it... Good luck!

Cannot stress keeping the frame coated with a lanolin product enough. They will rot out if you look at them wrong.

My 2011 had maybe 50 miles on it when I FF the entire frame inside and out. I do it ever year before the first freeze it's still black at 155K. If there is even the slight bit of rust stains it gets blasted and painted and FF. I live in Maine close to the NH boarder where they clear the roads with salt.

Curious, how often do you actually drive in the salt?

Nice low mileage rig...I would get costs on new frame replacement...Then treat the hell out of it as you are still in salt country.

If you don’t treat the INSIDE of the frame after the repair it’s only going to last a couple of years.

That frame won't pass any inspection, get a new frame,as patching it is a waste of money.

Conway NH is a shopping Mecca, where I am it's about 15 miles. Some thing small, lunch a can of beer, local stuff. Conway is a shopping Mecca, Lowes, HD, Groceries etc so it's pretty often, to top it off it's tax free! So yeah I do get over there a lot. I was born and raised in MD I have been in Maine a for at least 35-40 years.

Welder here, that frame doesn't appear to have enough steel left to hold a bead.
get a wire wheel on a grinder and get that rust off to where you can see clean metal.
then you will see how much frame you have left.

if the rest of the truck is good, then swap it onto another frame. that is what most of us would do.

if you can not do the work yourself, do you think the truck is worth the $6k+ for a frame and labor?
