I’m sure that asphalt driveway and the long ass heatwave we’ve been going through isn’t helping either. :)

    Reviving an old thread,
My application was under 6 hours total start to finish in August, only done in certain spots. Dropped it off in the morning and picked it up mid afternoon.
My question is are these guys doing the correct procedure, had it done in Kamloops.

The dealer (Grappone) had my 2013 for a few days. I dropped it off Monday morning and got a call that it was all set Thursday, but I don't know how long they ACTUALLY worked on it during that time.

When I dropped it off, the guy that checked me in said they have to clean it thoroughly and let it dry for awhile (a day) before they can apply the CRC. If you base it on THAT, it would seem like 6 hours is a little short.

I DID, however, find out from the guy that checked me out how much Toyota pays the dealer for it, at least approximately. I saw numbers on the paperwork he had that was NOT on my paperwork (obviously because it was no cost to met), so I asked him about it. He said Toyota pays them a little over $800 for the inspection/treatment (I think I saw $839ish on his paperwork).

They also gave me a loaner (fully loaded 2020 Taco, which was really nice, considering mine is a Base), so I'm sure the cost of the loaner is part of that $800+.

So is this only for the first owner? I am purchasing a 2015 from dealer and its a one owner truck, will I get a letter or do I have to register with Toyota?

Just call your dealer and schedule a frame inspection. They will tell you the rest.

I’m the second owner of a 2015. I never received a letter from Toyota. Took truck into cochrane Toyota. Gave them the vin. They checked to make sure it qualified. It did. Made appt. Dropped it off on a Tuesday morning. They said it will be cleaned and inspected during the day, and the night crew will repair any spots that needed additional attention, and spray the CRC. Mine was pretty clean, so don’t think any repairs were done. Picked it up on Wednesday after work. Super quick. Super simple. Cochrane Toyota was excellent to deal with. My Only complaint was with the rental. Was given a VW station wagon.:puke:

Sweet! So that means I'm covered until October 2029, or does this only apply to trucks sold in Canada?

I understood it to mean the frame warranty is extended 12 years from the first in service date of the vehicle. Mine is a 15, so I should now be covered until 2027.

No, I was wrong about that. Its 12 years from the date it was originally purchased from Toyota.

The phrase is "Date Of First Use" to my understanding. So you can't even go by the model year. For example, a model year 2013 may have been purchased and used from the middle of 2012, so in such a case, it would be until the middle of 2024 (as opposed to middle of 2025)

Mine was like that as well. Done in the spring. Gobs of globs all summer so I parked in my alley. Wiped off whenever I visited someone so I didn't leave oily stains on their driveways. Seems to have slowed down due to weather and less wax remaining.

Also, my three year old son thought we got a rental Lamborghini when they gave me an accord rental lol.

I am taking my2011 in later this month. Yes it seems they have to clean and dry the interior of the rail. Once dry they will coat. Will take minimum of a day I was told, I am taking it to Price Toyota in Delaware. Women was knowledgeable about the matter, in fact it was the dealership that called me to tell me to come in.

She did me mention that she thinks Toyota will announce another measure if these coated frames to deteriorate later on. Don’t know if she’s clued in or it’s just her opinion but it would be good of Toyota to make good for owners of these trucks.
