Frame Rot Vent!

I might be wrong but I think the "Limited Service Campaign" ended a few months ago. If it wasn't examined before then it is too late.

 

It ended in March

 

I drove my newly framed truck almost 2 hours one way to and from the lake this weekend. No problems, no weird noises, aligned perfect. Can't believe I have a brand new frame and parts on a truck with 175k miles.

 

so this really did end in march? because i was never notified about it and my shit is so rusty on the underside im almost scared for when it finally eats through. my power steering rack is half rusted out, and the rest of my frame and under body metal parts dont look so hot. definitely has me worried. im getting new leafs and some seat belt recall done next saturday and im going to beg and plead with the dealer to fucking do something because honestly a 9 year old truck with this much rust is ridiculous. its my first toyota and i love it but the overall problems suck.

 

Call your dealer tomorrow and see what they say. But it did end in March. You didn't see any posts on here regarding this? I never received a letter either..but I saw it on here...went and took care of it.

I mean I had a a buddy who had his done here locally (@Sandman614 ) but I didn't know much about it until recent months after it was already over.

 

From the car fax I got it was in north western Alabama for the first 66k or so miles and then sold. After that no clue til I got it at almost 120k. But the fact my power steering rack and other things are literally flaking giant pieces off concerns me since I'm in a non cold climate state

 

yeah, I'm not sure if yours would be even considered...I mean it should be if you're describing the rust. Mine was in PA and VA, both cold weather states. call and take it in

 

yeah part of me just hopes they can do something that isnt just spray the underside and call it a day you know? it goes in saturday morning for recall leafs and seat belt recall so will be addressing them then but will probably give them a heads up before i go in on saturday.

 

where is the rust? I had holes on each side of the frame, right next to the cat converter. Flaking and chipping everywhere else. Just mention it to them to see what they say

 

yeah its in that area. ive also got the flaking and chipping you mention. my cats are also rusty as shit and so are my headers. i can take some pics tomorrow in the light but yeah man. 147k on the odo right now. seems a little ridiculous to me that this much is rusty on a 9 year old truck
