I've noticed from various threads is that no two stories are alike,I realize the dealerships are going to be different for example my local dealership is not that good to deal with, thats why I went to Pa to buy my 08 tacoma an my sons 06 4runner but I would think Toyota's corporate offices would have the same story and I believe Toyota reimburses their dealerships for this work,I do know from a former employee of a Ford dealership (owned by the same people that have the local toyota dealership) That Toyota was allowing 40 hours labor for frame replacement,so you would think the dealerships would be more than helpful since toyota's footing the bill and the owner in most cases is probably going to foot the bill some, hoses, etc. that toyota doesn't cover.. I did get the warranty for my 08 Tacomas rear leaf springs, now they got me for $80 for an alinement but I caught a glimpse of Toyota bill for the springs an it was over $1200..

Was that an alignment because you had the leaf springs replaced?

My 2004 Tacoma TRD double cab looks like new, but the frame I just discovered is rotting badly by the right rear tire. I can put my fingers through it. I called the dealer and they said in May 2010 the previous owner took it in for recall under spray. I bought the truck later that same summer. I'm afraid my beautiful looking truck will break in half driving down the road or hauling a trailer. Am I SOL or can I get Toyota to do anything at this point??? I just started my investigation but one thread said the under spray made the problem worse as the water gets behind the spray and traps it, accelerating the rusting. Thank you.
