    For a 1998 taco?

Good work on not stopping after the first dumb shit dealer!! Seems this has been a common thing lately, where a guy calls in and the dealer acts as if there is no such thing or get told the coverage has long since been expired er some stupid ass excuse. I dont understand why so many dealers pull this BS! And like i said it seems to be pretty damn common these days to get fed a line of BS and they dont even run your vin before they pop off with that shit!

There is no way that will ever happen. Especially since they already offered frame replacements. They're not gunna bite the bullet twice. We are lucky they have "bit the bullet" once as is..

What's the latest on this? Guess what I just discovered under my '04 Taco on Monday? Broken shock, frame corroded and cracked-not all the way through, but undriveable IMO.

This is suckin' the big one. Upside is a frame repair isn't too bad-assuming they don't discover anything else.

From what I was told the frame replacement is valid for 15 yrs from the purchase date of the truck so you should be good. The one prerequisite is that the truck had to be sprayed with that underbody coating process that they offered a few years back. If that was not completed then you are out of luck.

Call Toyota directly and speak to them. You can open a case then give that case number to the service manager when you go to the dealer. Most dealers are handing these directly to the managers and bypassing the service writers.

Just opened a case with them. Funny, they asked "What specifically are you looking for from Toyota?" I replied- a truck I can drive?

I had a 2003 about 4 years ago and never had the spray done. Toyota wouldn't do anything for me sadly. I got it fixed myself by a very good fab shop. Is what it is - missed the spray letter somehow!

I feel fore ya I would still give it a try. Have it fix but still go threw the NHTSA with the complaint because if they used the proper steel these frame would not have to be replaced or fix Like my 2002 I have other transportation I can use
