It all Comes Down to what your state Allows or what you think you can get away with bottom line it is your vehicle

I increase the size of the drain holes that get clogged up The winter mix gets in there never leaves every time it gets wet it gets active again.

Myself if I could I would remove most of the boxed section of the frame gussets in the correct places stronger then new. No place for the debris to be stuck.

The state says it needs to be just like factory for the most

While the steel manufacturing got messed up I put the most blame on the EPA and stupid mileage standards lets box the frame to decrease the weight imported vehicles

The other day I came across a rodent nest inside the frame interesting smell of burning nest.

thought you were also blaming the state and muni roads depts to dump chemicals so people could speed 20 over the posted limit safely in icy conditions!?!

If they can make us stay home for 3 months what is a day or two in a major blizzard .

I can`t recall being Snowed in anywhere most all the public roads are not passable in 24 hours after the event ended .

Now if your mile long driveway is 2' deep in snow your snow plow truck is at Moms house an hour away and your shovel is broken that is slightly different.
