I'm looking at buying a 2010. It was on the East coast all of its life. Looks like it has a little bit of rust damage but not too bad. is there still a chance that Toyota will take a look at this and fix it?

It will get the same rust damage west coast or east coast. The thing that causes the problems is road salt in northern states. The pics you posted of the new frame look fine, but could have been prevented with woolwax or fluid film.

Rust happens. It doesn't look horrible.

You won't be able to tell until you put hands on.

why people get a frame replaced and then continue to not treat said frame right afterward is beyond me. Probably was just ready to sell not long after replacement and didn’t give a shit about protecting it.

PO probably opted to not replace any optional components during frame replacement. Which is why UCAs have more surface rust than the frame.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
those UCAs do look pretty bad as far as rust goes, my 2013 UCAs with 7 Canadian winters on it did not look that bad before I put on the ICONs.
You can pick up almost new UCAs on here for almost nothing, keep an eye out for some used ones. 2nd or 3rd gen will work.
But the new frame is a good thing.

thanks guys. gonna go check it out in person i love my prerunner but wanna explore more backroads and tired of "worrying" if i will get stuck. hard to sell a perfectly good truck though. also taking a risk getting another vehicle.
