What I wish I didn't give up was the 2015 enterprise f150 I was given. V8 had balls and got decent MPG's. That being said, like the creature comforts in the 4runner more.

You have two more days for any frame problems... This is it. March 31 is deadline, and after that day people are on their own.

FUCK YA YOTA! You stand by your truck and I forsure thought id pass this frame inspection but waited to the very last minute...SHE FAILED, unbelievable, im getting a brand new frame! Any ideas of additional costs you guys have had to pay? The dealership said there might be some added parts not covered but hell I dont mind at all.

PS i just had surface rust, no major penetration that i could find.

I'm at $230 so far to replace rear brake cylinders. Read above 4 posts. Keeping fingers crossed and it should be done tomorrow or next day. Will advise if they try to get any more out of me.

Interesting, i just got the news today im geting a new frame. You think I can source my own parts such as aftermarket upper control arms and they will install while its being ripped and replaced? Trying to get the most out of this stealership win while i can. Im guessing some of my parts will be siezed/rusted up but hard to tell what those could be. If anyone here has insight from there frame replacement that would be great. Probably best for me to just read through this 113 page thread to start.

I don't see them giving you any issue with providing your own parts. Generally, whatever they need to remove/replace during the swap anyway, they won't charge for. If it's going to be extra labor, such as assembling struts/coils, they will charge you.

I would guess that they wouldn't charge any extra to install UCA's, since they would have to swap over the old ones anyway. Obviously ask them to be sure.

Also a good time to replace the remaining suspension parts as well.

They should also do a preliminary inspection/walk through with you, when you drop it off, and give you a heads up on anything that may need replacing.

lucky you...I have some perforation and the dealerships in my area all passed it...and gave me a bunch of crap like they don't want to do the work...

I have a bit of email traffic going back and forth...gonna file a complaint with the BBB when I get back from deployment.

Honestly I thought the dealer saw it as a win for them aswell. Either the guys in gray work gear where drooling over my truck or they saw it as more work for them as this is a weeks worth of work for 2 guys. Which i noticed on my reciept today is 125$ an hour paid for by the manufacturer i believe or im guessing these recall claims aren't paid for by the dealer. You definetly should file a complaint as this was a surprise for me they said it failed when all it has is surface rust. Its a colorado/wyoming truck so no east coast salt and not a spec on the body.

So I got my frame inspected and they said that there are small holes but nothing major. They said they would send it up anyways and it got approved which is awesome! Here's where things got a little scary... I told them that I'm leaving the state of Hawaii in 3 months and they told me that they don't think that they will be able to get it in on time. As you know the recall ends on the 31st of March and had the inspection done about a week ago. So for about a week I tried everything I could to try and coordinate things with the Utah dealership and hawaii dealership to try and get them to transfer the inspection information but no luck. They said that the frame can only be ordered where the truck got inspected. I had talked to cooperate and they said that they would get back to me but never did. Then I called the original dealership again and luckily found one of the managers that was more than willing and did everything he could to help me with my situation. One day he called me and told me that he had pushed me up to the front of the line because of my situation. He told me that I would be getting my truck done in about a month which gives me plenty of time before I leave island. I just bought the truck not to long ago with 100,000 miles on it so getting this done will be like getting a whole new truck! I am very pleased and am looking forward to this being done. I just hope that I don't need to pay for extra parts out of pocket.

Does anyone know how much in labor and parts that this will be costing to do to every vehicle?

If you check the inside vertical section by the cats, I'll bet you find something there. That's the trouble spot. They need to find a 10mm or larger perforation to fail the frame.

Mine, when you factor in cost of 3 months of car rental, was ~$14,000

Interesting ya ill check that area out tomorrow, what the guy told me was they take a ball peen hammer and smack it around the frame. If they put a hole in it, it fails. I laughed at the guy and said wait your telling me a guys going to swing a hammer around my truck and if it creates a hole you get a new frame. I almost right then and there was like ill pass cause i dont trust someone hammering around it but then thought what if...sure enough they made a hole i guess? This whole process boggled my mind a bit as i was just being told im getting a ~12k dollar frame, still cant believe it.

Yeah, definitely count this as luck in your favor. There are already people that had their frames pass, and got the CRC coating applied, only to have the frame fail after, and Toyota isn't covering anything further. SOL.

What was your amount without the rental cost? So just parts and labor?

I appreciate you answering my question. But damn... 12 grand. That is crazy awesome. That is almost as much as I paid for my truck. What are your guys's guesses on how much this would increase your trucks value to dealerships / personal buyers?

As far as I've read, dealers are saying it boosts the trucks value by $0.
With that said, to any educated buyer, it has to be worth more than the same truck with a CRC coating. How much more? Who knows?

Out with the old and in with the new. Picked it up today. I paid $255 for the rear wheel cylinders and they didn't charge me for the front coil switch to the other shocks. The mechanic made a point to come out and talk to me for a few minutes. I'm happy with it overall. The brakes feel a little softer than I'd like so may have to go back for that. It's definitely a better ride. I dont feel the bumps like I used to. Only 93K miles on it. Many more to go.
