Got a call from the dealership down here in SC telling me Toyota approved the frame replacement on my truck. I recently moved to SC from VA/MD and its been a fight with southeast toyota to honor the issue since they're not a cold weather state. I pursued it and raised hell with corporate, and they finally sent out two of their corporate reps to inspect it themselves yesterday.

Here's my thread ive been updating since it all started:

Just curious do you have pictures of your frame that I can compare mine to?

Did we ever verify what all gets replaced? I could have sworn I read somewhere that the frame, brake lines, lower control arms and rear leaf springs all get replaced? Are those parts replaced on every truck?

My appointment to have my frame inspected finally arrived. They had my truck for two days, found no rust holes and treated the frame with rust inhibitor. They broke four bolts removing the skid plate. I was supplied with a Mazda 2 as a loaner and there was no charge for anything.
Overall it was a pretty painless procedure except for the faint odour of tar (undercoating) being burned off of the exhaust system where they oversprayed.
The service advisor said their dealership has inspected hundreds of trucks and found only three needing frame replacement. Two of these trucks were originally from Eastern Canada and the third was from BC's interior.

i was told the only thing that would be replaced were the bolts that hold the body to the frame

FYI. I'm getting my frame replaced, but have had a rental since late October. I was 70 in line. Now, I'm down to 28, but there is a national parts back order on 2 final parts. I'm also getting new springs as part of the spring recall. I'm glad I'm getting a new frame and such, it sucks not having my truck for so long.

Here's my invoice, I had the leaf recall too. For me it was a painless process and I am very happy with the results. I had 5100s installed on all fours (coils installed prior) free of charge and had them service my transfercase and differentials at my expense.

    new lightbulbs. lol
Took my 2005 TRD Sport in yesterday - lots of frame surface rust, but they told me it was good to go and are going to proceed with the frame treatment.
Getting it done Tuesday too! Fast turn around...

I'll upload pics when it happens and see what it looks like.

what happens if your truck WAS a cold state vehicle but when you (I) bought it, 12/18/14 it was in Kentucky, NOT MI?? The dealer said it went over everything (which I doubt because #2 cylinder boot was 1/2 loose). Is there a way to find out which TSB's have been done to your truck? I have looked around and googled it but can't really find a way to discover this.

Kentucky is one of the states listed in the recall, you should be fine. I bought my truck in Ohio but live in Kentucky and had my frame replaced.

Type your vin into toyotas service website it'll pull any TSB's not done on that truck

If you are outside of the LSC like I am then please get involved. I am in the process of having counsel file a class action suit in Florida. The attorneys would love to have others from various states involved as well. PM me and I can pass along the contact info. This is is all done contingent and will not cost you a dime.
