    Team Toyota in Langhorn.

Found more issues wrong with it.

I got a nice death rattle going on if I go above 40mph
The bed is crooked, space between bumper and bed on once side is 3" vs an inch on the passenger side. They've got the bed so far up agaisnt the cab I cannot fully open my tool box
And the breaks are insanely "light" as in I have to hit the floor for the truck to stop.

Removal of the cv axle will not effect the bushing.

Charlot, please write back on your results...I'm 4 weeks into my 5 Month wait...I really miss my truck. Dealer gave me a Corolla as a loaner...while I'm grateful for a loaner...I really miss my truck.

Truck goes back Friday. They admitted to not doing a front end alignment. Said that one wasn't needed and the shake is probably something loose.

However every one I've descibed this too, mostly all mechanics, have said its a front end alignment. Not to mention my drivers side wheel looks like it's leaning.

it is interesting all the things you learn when you join the forums. had a 2000 Tacoma 4x4 and got rear ended about two months ago.

frame was damaged and was not totaled. shop doing the damage noticed the perforations. I had fist-sized holes in my frame in two or three spots. shop could not repair the frame as they wished as it would require welding plate to the frame to repair the damage from oxidation during straightening.

shop mentions to me about the recall which I never knew about. get the truck back and take to dealership and they tell me the truck recall is no longer valid for that truck.

I call Toyota motor and they escalate and speak to dealership service manager to confirm (after a whole lot of questioning to find my VIN records and purchase history) that my truck is eligible for another three months as part of the 15-year coverage of the rust damage.

dealer complies and says they don't make the frames for the truck anymore so I will be receiving an offer letter to get bought out and the truck crushed. a couple weeks later I get an offer letter of about 225% of KBB excellent value.

I say good bye to my 2000 and put part of the payment towards my 2015 4x4 MG AC truck. couldn't be happier and in the end all worked out pretty well.

Are the delays you guys are experiencing due to the volume of trucks at your dealerships waiting for frame replacements? Or is it because parts are on back order? I'm guessing its a little of both scenarios but I'm just curious how long mines gonna take. AFAIK, my truck is the only vehicle at the dealership (I'm in SC) waiting for a new frame....

@BassMaster...It's both. I think the lawsuit in Arkansas in Oct 2014 kicked Toyota in the ass and they finally decided to do something about it before the Feds got involved. I think I received my first recall notice back in Nov 2014, but I kinda dragged my feet until Jan 2015...By Jan however, the flood of trucks were well in progress.

I dropped mine off on Sept 28 20114 and got it back Jan 6 2015. It had to go back a few times for issues and I finally got everything squared away February 3rd. So Just a little over 4 months

I was originally told 6-8 weeks. While I was at the dealer when this was going on they had well over 150 trucks in a storage lot waiting on frames/parts. I was told they had another 80-100 trucks at another location.

It seems like the wait times are getting longer and longer and to be honest, at least in my area, I haven't seen many if any at all of the 05-08's rolling around. Every Tacoma i see has LED tails.

My trucks been at the dealership for 3 weeks. I dropped in today to get an update. He said they're just waitin on a few more parts. He said he's hopin to have everything together and start workin on it by next week. I'm skeptical tho, considering what I'm reading here on TW. The one thing i do know is that it's FRIDAY and these beers taste great.

OK, reporting back in from Westminster MD. My frame was ordered early December, I kept my truck. The dealership last week received 4 of the 28 frames it has ordered (a few for Tundras, by the way). I was 2nd on the list so mine starts Monday morning. They finished the first truck yesterday, took about 3 days.

I will post a report hopefully late next week on exactly what was replaced and how it went. I will be getting a loaner, I think they said Camry.

they have had my truck over a month. originally said they had the wrong frame (extended cab instead of double) now they are waiting on the main harness.
been in a rental this whole time. pretty soon it will have cost them more than I paid for the truck to do this replacement.

New Frame from recall, I added new struts during recall
Just got my 2005 new frame: I also replaced front struts. They put on new leaf springs in back and I'm thinking new springs somewhere but not sure. However, I do have to tell you the new shocks/struts on the front 'really really brought back that new loving feeling!!! It rides exactly as if it came out of the factory 'new'!! Wow!! And all I had to pay for was the parts of that aspect because the old was coming off anyway, with the new frame being added. It is now tight and steady. I know this one road I pass would lately always cause me to wabble when I passed through one certain area ... went over it today and wow, real steady!! Interesting, when I picked up the truck, it died the first two stop signs and I thought ... oh, crap here we go! Took it back and the mechanic explained the computer had to relearn .... he had me turn on the air conditioning and drive a short ways. He was right, it came up to speed just fine. So far, they did a great job!!

I only have 68,000 miles on this '05 ... What's the cost or best way to get a Tundra V8 into it[IMG]? I bought the v6 thinking better gas mileage - wrong, Tundra v8 does better!! I have only one minor complaint, I noticed a small connecting piece of metal from the bed to the frame (right over the back tire) was really rusted .... why in the heck didn't they replace that?!! But hey, it appears they did a great job and again, I'm glad I replaced front struts/shocks ... made a huge difference and saved labor charges. Took several weeks to get frame in. Took them Monday thru Thurs to fix, got loaner during that time - Rav4. I was told the reason they didn't do a buy back was because 'they had the frames'. I took some pictures of the labeling on the frames -- it appears the frame came from Mexico.

Surely, this call-back added value ... but what would you add?d (IL) PS: I have had no previous problems except 'compass' went out

I have tried to download pictures of my frame, but it does work!
My frame is now outside the Dealer s garage.
They told me that it is the worst case they have seen so far on a 2007
It is pretty bad,amd really unbeleivable how rusted it is ,specially on the top of the frame .
I ll try to ipload again pictures, but i doubt that ill succeed!
They are in there third day of work today,i hope that ill get it by Friday.
Then first stop,to Crown anti rust to have the whole truck treated for rust.
    Cheers from cold Ontario

    Well,it worked!
My frame is the one side ways on top of an other rusted frame,i think the one under is a Tundra frame.
But as you can see,it was pretty bad for a 2007.
