Make sure you ask for the loaner truck, if applicable. It was really informative to me to drive a 2018 SR5 Automatic for a few weeks. Really made me love my 5-speed four cylinder more! :)

This! My 2007 5-speed 4-cylinder regular cab is in the shop awaiting its new frame, and they put me in a brand new TRD Double Cab automatice everything for a loaner. I can't wait to get my truck back!

I'm curious how the replacement frames are holding up for people. Some of you have had them for a while now. Do they look as though they are holding up better than the original frame?

No gremlins or concerns so far. They attached a lot of my old, crispy, parts to it, so those need to be replaced.

Put a trailer hitch on last night. Can't tell you how glad I was that someone else had taken out those bolts recently, and put them back in. And that there were brand, shiny new nuts in the frame to tap into.

I refused the coating last inspection on grounds they couldn't guarantee me it wouldn't drip on a new driveway but that was before they extended the frame recall. Can they disqualify me on that one?

Toyota said any inspection done during the old campaign is void and the vehicle must be reinspected under this new campaign.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. Just have it done, and go from there. Not sure to what "new campaign" they are referring?

Presumably the Class Action Settlement remedy vs. the original company recall.

Well my frame failed, they have no trucks as loaners and I said I needed a truck so they drove me over to enterprise for a F150. They gave me no time frame on when to expect the frame, less than accommodating IMO.
    I'll keep ya updated.

Thank Baby Jesus they called and just didnt cut'em......Guys remove EVERYTHING that didnt come on truck when you drove it off lot!!!

UPDATE....Went this past Sat. to get truck. Asked to test drive and give it a look over.....NOT HAPPY..... apparently zip ties are now OE as they were used to secure fenders, front bumper( very loose), various wire harnesses on frame. Some bolts on fenders just missing, skid plate not bolted/1 zip tie/ just hanging, some fasteners / hose clamps and clips not attached at all, grill and cowling (sp?) around fan / over radiator missing almost all fasteners. Also noticed a loose hose on top back area of motor along with various caps (to AC?) missing. Oh yeah also 2 nice deep scratches in obvious place on front bumper (def. will not buff out) luckily too good pics before i left it that day to prove no scratches / dents present . The passenger side front wheel well liner ( the black plastic sheet that keeps stuff from splashing into motor & pulleys) was torn to where they actually only reattached a small corner of what they located when reassembling. Test drive sucked as was horribly out of balance at 30 MPH so i did not even waste time and bother to look further / under to inspect frame / suspension etc as it was all aggravatingly laughable. Told service guy/ and showed just what i had noticed in 10 mins looking.....left truck and told rep needed to have their best guy spend a few hours reassembling / nut-bolting it back the way it was (or better) than when I dropped it off. I need an aspirin now. Giving them one more chance to get it right then Im "climbing the ladder".

Stick to your guns! The dealership that did mine kept talking the techs up but they obviously didn’t know much beyond a frame swap. Other techs had to fix their verious screw ups. Not sure if they are overworked and just don’t care or are just stupid and hired to do one job?!? They are payed flat rate, get the job done as fast as possible and not held responsible for quality of work.
    Finally got mine straightened out.
