I had no vibes or shakes or anything until my new frame swap . Now 49-54 mph slight steering wheel shake . Did not like the new leaf springs either ,garbage ! Complained and dealer installed my Dakar leaf packs free of charge . Still have small steering wheel vibration at 52 mph :annoyed::notsure: I have a new carrier bearing and the shim kit that needs to be installed and hopefully the vibe shake goes away :notsure:

Opposite experience here - I greatly prefer the ride with the new leaf springs, and a pesky vibration that I'd been having before went away after the replacement.

Bought a 2006 Taco Last week, and I took it to Toyota today for the frame inspection. They found 2 holes in the frame, and approved it for replacement. Was told that they will replace the frame, lower control arms, leaf springs, and brake lines. The lady working the desk said that I will have to pay about $250CAD for "fluids"... Anybody know which fluids she means? I assume brake fluid would need to be replaced as they are running new brake lines, but $250?

Need help - does this separation look good enough for frame replacement? I think it’s about 10mm worth but depends on how you measure.

This is the rail by the cat.

Mine looks like that as well but from what I've heard, some dealers really need to see perforation of 10mm to justify the swap.

Have you checked the cat up front on the driver's side? Mine had the most damage there.

I’m thinking there must be at least 10mm somewhere... so far that’s the worst I can spot. Maybe one more winter and then take it in for inspection? I have until 2020.

I doubt it looking at the rest of the rail. But different dealers seem to have different standards. Have it inspected and see what they say. Be sure to show them your pics.

My truck was inspected and year and half ago. I took it into the dealer after I got the recall letter. They told me I can be re inspected. My frame failed and it is going to be replaced. I had to talk to 3 different dealers.... they all have different versions of the recall. Call around until you get a dealership that is willing to look at it. Idont know where you are but I'm in southern ontario and highly recommend exeter toyota.

Well my truck has to go back in for steering wheel vibration at 60 mph. The whole steering felt weird since frame replacement like it's loose, or sloppy.

I paid for the steering shaft replacement and new rack and pinion and PS lines . Still have steering wheel shake at 47- 54 mph  going to rotate tires and see what happens . Never had a vibe or shake before frame swap even with my lift .

Just had a full frame replacement done last week! Can't be happier! Toyota of Des Moines inspected my truck about a month ago when I took it in for regular service and I asked them about frame and leaf spring recalls. I did receive a letter from Toyota about 4 months ago stating my truck may be eligible. Dealer Toyota of Des Moines ordered parts and I took in my truck. They completely replaced my frame AND replaced the leaf springs! Only took 4 days. It's like a new truck again! Not bad for having 150K plus miles!

What was the total time they had your truck? Did they put you in a loaner? I'm supposed to hear back this week on whether my frame is getting replaced and I want to plan for it.

    Was this dealer purchased?
I thought Toyota had some sort of bought by date to be part of the suit?
