Yea that is my concern, I just brought it up as an idea that someone posted on here. I am not gonna do anything to the frame anymore because I believe if the frame is compromised/restructured in anyway that may be an out for Toyota. So my truck will just have to sit and get buried in snow up here in Atlantic Canada for 4 months lol.[/QUOTE]

Yea I have called several times with very vague answers, so I am just gonna leave the truck as is and park it. The only reason I even considered the idea of getting frame back into action was that it was the reason my inspection failed and if i fixed it I could drive my truck while I waited. Now the sticker expires in 3-4 days and my tuck will have to sit because it is not legal here to drive vehicle with expired inspection sticker and no one will inspect a vehicle with a hole in the frame lol:crapstorm:.

Well when it fails take it to the dealership and tell them to step up their efforts and get you a loaner because you can no longer drive it because the frame is unsafe!

While I was truck shopping last Saturday, I took a test drive. Shore Toyota, southern NJ. The salesman had me first drive to their gas pump way in the back of the property. While driving back there, I must have seen a dozen rusted old frames stacked. But what was more surprising was I saw many dozens of brand new frames stacked 4 high on wood pallets. I wondered if all those frames were already spoken for for that dealer's customers? If so, it seems they have several months of backlogged frame replacements and I can see why some of you guys are being pushed back 3-6 months.

I don’t know why you would order spare frames to have on hand. Don’t now if Toyota Corp would allow with the current huge backlog. I think they save on shipping if they mass ship to one location. Mine came in the same time as the one that had been waiting 2 months when mine was approved. The frame is a $4000 part and books as 2 Techs/40 hrs. Most are getting done in about 3 days.

Yea I have been on the phone with Toyota Canada, Class Action hotline, and Toyota Dealer since they said my frame needs replacing. Told them everything about inspections being failed and that I am without a vehicle until my truck frame is replaced. All are telling me the same story that because in Canada it is a class action suit Toyota is only required to provide loaner vehicle for the duration of the service or 7 days which ever comes first. The Toyota Canada reps know who I am and roughly what questions I am gonna ask before I even tell them my name I have called that many times lol. My only shot in the dark, which likely would be now voided, would be to ask Toyota to inspect it and when they fail inspection on frame issues they would either tell me I can drive it or they would slap a sticker on it. I am sure this will not work but it is really my only option I literally have no other option because I cant talk to anyone else form Toyota, class action or dealer that I haven't talked to already unfortunately haha.

Thanks for the advice though. If i must up enough patience I will try and call again, but I think I already know the answer:confused::(

Shore Toyota replaced my frame last year. They do not have spare frames on the lot. After the replacement is approved the frames are ordered. They may arrive several at a time and then you wait your turn for installation. They have two techs that only do frame replacements. It takes them about a day and a half to complete a truck.

I've said this before, but one thing I've learned from this whole frame replacement thing, and following the threads here, is how vastly different dealerships are in implementing the replacement program. Also the quality of the work. I feel like I was very lucky with my dealer. They didn't even ask me if I wanted a loaner - they said, "you're gonna be in a loaner for a while, you want a Tacoma?".

I wonder if there are some criteria for issuing a loaner - number of holes, size of holes, location of holes, etc. Or if it's just up to the individual dealer.

If they won't give you a loaner, I wonder if it's worth contacting Corporate...

My dealership said “we don’t have a Tacoma avail for a loaner, how about a 4Runner?”lol

    Hey there,

I have given them a buzz multiple times and they, ever so politely and politically, claim there is nothing they can do because of the parameters of the lawsuit. They stated that "no one will be granted special treatment, even if inspections are running out and failing due to frame issues. They are not required to provide a loaner for anything past what the court stated." I knew that they don't have to provide loaner for more than that, but they always could go above and beyond for customer retention and care lol.

I should have also said that maybe they're shipped and stored there for other dealerships that have no extra room?
But there ARE many new frames on the lot.

After watching this video I would question if Ziebart is doing you more harm than good by appling it and would stick with FF.

Grappone Toyota, in Bow (next to Concord, junction of I89 and I93)), New Hampshire. I guess you'd consider them a rather large dealership. I think they commisioned a new loaner right off the lot then and there for me - the window sticker (with prices and all) was all folded up and stuffed in the glove compartment, and all the guides and owner's manual and such were still in shrink wrap. And to top it off, it was the same color (more or less - mine's Impulse Red Pearl) as my truck. Definitely going for the ol' upsell ;-)

Very good communication/transparency throughout. The only thing they dropped the ball on was I had asked them for an estimate on some totally unrelated minor body work, and they forgot. I was so happy when I got my truck, I just wanted to get 'er home, so I let it slide.

Lots of dollars and no sense...
I'm now on month 2 of being in a loaner, straight off the lot. Hate the 2wd 4DSB. But told them if they put me in a corrolla I'm stuffing dead deer in the trunk. It's hunting season. I have a truck for a reason. So through my experience and reading 164 pages of others' experiences every dealer is way different with how they handle these cases. Which is straight bull$#!t because corporate spells it out in the literature. I can understand waiting for some parts but 2-3 months? That's a little absurd. Also they weren't very cooperative when I said hey I wanna buy some parts, front spring/shock combo and will you put em on. Service writer who doesn't do the swap, said he 'thinks' they don't remove them when they do the swap. Correct me if if I'm wrong but in order to put 'new lower control arms and new frame' you have to remove the front suspension. I'm also hella concerned they are gonna give me the run around with my cbi front bumper on and All Pro sliders and firestone ride ride bags. Bitter sweet symphony on this one!!

Asked them a bunch of times to do shocks they never did them(did them my self)
A few days before I went to pick it up they called and said i need a steering rack and some other stuff.
Told them no way put truck back together and i got it, went to a local shop who are a bunch of toyo guys they checked rack and said it was fine.
When i told them i need a truck loaner they said my taco was ok to drive until frame swap
When i went to get truck survice guy said your your going to give us an excellent rating right. I just laughed
They did a OK job but have no people skills

Yes I am in Canada. And like a lot of guys on here, I was not put in a loaner. They just sent me on my way and told me to expect a call in a few months, maybe more. I got it checked in august and still haven't had any news.

I can second or third this comment lol. No info and no chance of helping out owner outside of the frame replacement. Seems like extremely bare minimum attempt at service, although the new frame is a nice touch haha. Not really the customers fault the frame was not up to grade when it came out of assembly line.
