Thanks! I'll stop by the dealer and look at my steering shaft to see its condition and make a decision.

Had my steering shaft, shocks and struts done with the frame. No labor charge!
I was having some binding issues while steering. So it was a no-brainer.

Did you use an OEM part for the steering shaft? The aftermarket ones are so much cheaper but I do not know if they will install an aftermarket.

    They shouldn't charge any labor.

Stopped by the dealer today and took a good look under my truck. Lower steering shaft looks great, Fuel straps and exhaust have some minor surface rust only so I think they are good. Other than the frame everything else looks OK and not needing replacement. So shocks & struts, 1" billet lift in rear, body mounts and sway bushings, and upgraded toyota drivers front differential bearing.

The dealer also over tightened the front wheel so much that it destroyed a six month old rotor. They also installed the wheel well liner on the outside of the mud flap.It took me a long time to figure out the noise!!

Did Toyota supply the part or just install it for free?

I had to purchase the part. Bought it from the dealership (save me a 1hr round trip delivery)

They should replace it with the frame you’d think!
I didn’t even try just threw it in the cab with the rest.
Guy that did mine coated all the exposed threads in red and tacky.
Coated all the internals and siliconed all the seems.
Pretty happy with mine it’s like new!

I just got my 2010 Pre-runner Access cab in manual transmission two weeks ago and it is in good condition but has been used hard. The truck was my little brother's who unexpectedly passed away so I plan to keep it for the long haul even if it isn't my daily driver at some point. All that said that I was already planning to put some time and money into it to make it as suitable as possible for my daily driver as long as possible.

Coming across this thread has peaked my interest in hoping I can get some of the work I was planning to do anyways included in a potential frame replacement. The truck was kept in west Texas so I will not be surprised if there is no rust found, but I will do my due diligence as mentioned in earlier comments to give the best chance possible for replacement.

I read on the class action suit that owners at December 2, 2016 are eligible, which is not the case for me or my brother, but I am curious how ownership history is checked. Has anyone encountered this?

Also, I am in South Carolina, has anyone in the upstate had a good experience with a dealer while undergoing this?

I bought my truck in August 2018, and took it in for the frame inspection the same week. They didn't care about ownership history at all

Mine qualified on the 6th of February after corporate got involved. The 31st of January was my last day. The special ordered parts kits took the longest. The frame arrived in about 5wks.
