I had my second gen Tacoma done a few years ago. I didn’t think they would do anything since I scraped the rust and put some spray undercoating on it prior to them looking at it. Needless I got a new frame and am a loyal Toyota fan as a result.

I got the CRC coating already in 2015. I’d like to get my frame looked at before the warranty expires in 2022. The dealer says I’ll have to pay for the next inspection, does that sound right?

I had my 07 in on December 7th and it failed the inspection due to a 1" hole next to the passenger side converter. Was advised that I had 6 month wait, stopped into Stevenson Toyota last week and was told by my service writer about 4 more months. Almost feels like there trying to sweep me under the carpet. I have a claim number with corporate so it may be time to give them another call, a nearly years wait in Colorado seems a bit much I think. Mitch

They let me take the truck home, they said when the work gets done they said I'd get a Camry even though I TOLD them I will need 4wd to get up to my house. It seems like I'm in for a uphill battle. Must be a ton of rusty trucks in a state not even listed....Time will tell I guess. Mitch

My truck is FINALLY going in on the 12th of August after waiting since 12-7-18. My frame and kit mysteriously showed up RIGHT AFTER i put a call into TOYOTA in Texas. I've got all my body parts crossed hoping that the job goes smoothly with no horror. We will see. Mitch

Probably because you searched for recall and not warranty enhancement program.

I have a 2007 and they sprayed it first then i took it back cause the frame was so bad you could just push a hole through it. So they replaced the frame but my truck came with a trailer hitch and its rusted just as bad as the frame was, but they safty since its a accesory is not covered. I personally disagree because it's the same metal that come on the truck and i cannot use it.

Did Dana Corp make the hitch also?

Afaik the warranty enhancement only covers up to 2011. Is your rusted through? They don't consider surface rust an no issue, only if it's deteriorating and causes a 10mm hole or larger. Got a pic of your rust?

They’re in process of extending the warranty program. Nothing official or “public” yet. If you have a legit 10mm or larger hole, I would at least get in touch with Toyota for documentation purposes. Other than that, wait and see.

Well, went in for my frame inspection this morning and .... I'm in!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:. Thank God because I replaced a weeping trans line yesterday (the second one) and it is a horror show under my truck. Every line and connection is blistered and rotting. I have no idea what it would cost and what a pita it would be to replace every hard line, both trans and brakes, and connection. When I saw the tech taking pics I prayed and crossed my fingers was thrilled when the service writer came back with the report and said I qualify. She said 4-6 weeks to get the frame and a week to do the swap. Now to start speed reading this thread so I know when they're trying to charge me for something they shouldn't. Figure I'll buy a new set of 5100's, a fresh aal and install it myself when I get the truck back and a new rear bumper.

see if they will spray the frame with another coat of protectant. also inspect the motor mounts, and have them replaced if needed. 2 things i wish i would have done when my frame was replaced.
