Probably because you searched for recall and not warranty enhancement program.

I have a 2007 and they sprayed it first then i took it back cause the frame was so bad you could just push a hole through it. So they replaced the frame but my truck came with a trailer hitch and its rusted just as bad as the frame was, but they safty since its a accesory is not covered. I personally disagree because it's the same metal that come on the truck and i cannot use it.

Did Dana Corp make the hitch also?

Afaik the warranty enhancement only covers up to 2011. Is your rusted through? They don't consider surface rust an no issue, only if it's deteriorating and causes a 10mm hole or larger. Got a pic of your rust?

They’re in process of extending the warranty program. Nothing official or “public” yet. If you have a legit 10mm or larger hole, I would at least get in touch with Toyota for documentation purposes. Other than that, wait and see.

Well, went in for my frame inspection this morning and .... I'm in!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:. Thank God because I replaced a weeping trans line yesterday (the second one) and it is a horror show under my truck. Every line and connection is blistered and rotting. I have no idea what it would cost and what a pita it would be to replace every hard line, both trans and brakes, and connection. When I saw the tech taking pics I prayed and crossed my fingers was thrilled when the service writer came back with the report and said I qualify. She said 4-6 weeks to get the frame and a week to do the swap. Now to start speed reading this thread so I know when they're trying to charge me for something they shouldn't. Figure I'll buy a new set of 5100's, a fresh aal and install it myself when I get the truck back and a new rear bumper.

see if they will spray the frame with another coat of protectant. also inspect the motor mounts, and have them replaced if needed. 2 things i wish i would have done when my frame was replaced.

Its not too rusted but living in the north im trying to keep up with the rust proofing every year but still seems to be rusting. I plan on keeping this truck for at least 10 years so im a little worried

It’s not just the frame - it’s all the hard lines and their fittings and connections.

I had the same conversation with my dealer. They obviously disagree. It’s up to us to repair or replace it. My rear bumper is a worthless pile rust that I’m sure they won’t fix and that is part of the passenger safety system!

My hitch/ bumper support was rusted out like the rest of my frame. My dealer agreed to install my aftermarket rear bumper for free. The bonus is the new bumper had an integrated hitch behind the license plate.20190805_195108.jpg
