I was under mine last week changing rear diff fluid. While there, I checked out the frame. Thing looks damn near like it did new. Granted, I don't live in an area that sees any snow but I do live a mile from the beach and the truck has been up north in the snow a few times. Nonetheless, I was surprised it looked so good.

It's nice to see people actually getting their trucks back instead of a seemingly endless wait.

Same here, been waiting since early February. Still behind 6 trucks. Looks like September or October for me.

Brought my truck to Toyota in Harrisburg,pa in November, '14 & determined needed new frame.
I called this week for update & was told the trucks brought in October '14 were still waiting for their frames to arrive!
    6 months and waiting.
The dealer has no clue when then will be coming in.

    Wowww
    That is long.
You have been waiting all that time.
They accepted my frame issue beginning of last October.
Everything was completed end of February 2015
Best of luck, and hope they do it soon for you.

Friday afternoon I drove from Harrisburg back to Pittsburgh and saw a flatbed semi loaded with frames headed east on the turnpike. Of course there is no way of knowing where it was headed or if they were Tacoma frames, but this might give someone hope.

A lot of posts here talk about how long their wait has been and many have been waiting longer than others. Much of that wait has been attributed to the harness. Nobody has mentioned the different frame types that have to be produced. Toyota has to have at least 6 different frame types for the Tacoma, and the type of truck you have determines which you need. Mine is double cab long bed, so it should be the longest frame out there. Some forum members show this in their profiles and some don't. To those of you with excessive wait times, what frame are you waiting for? For anyone who has already had theirs done, which one do you have?

I'm pretty sure there are only 3 frame types 1: DCLB, 2: AC,& DCSB (Same frame), 3: Reg. cab.

I'm @ 8 months now, and have since brought my truck back home to wait for the frame.

I've heard the 4runners are built on the same frame as the Tacoma. Anyone know if the rust issue is with 4runners, as well? My bro has a '08.

I just looked at my frame myself (2007 Tacoma Dbl Cab Sport) and it did not look that bad. In the winter I wash the undercarriage at least 2 or 3 times. My question is if I bring it in for an inspection and they do not find any rust through can I refuse the undercoating spray?

Went in for frame inspection today and failed. Quoted with 3 to 4 month wait...but I doubt it..we'll see how it goes.

Wait wait... so i live in illinois, near chicago. (VERY cold winters!)

    its an 06 xrunner.

I just bought it 2 days ago, without getting fully under the vehicle i could see rust but didn't look too closely.

If i find a hole, i can get the frame replaced, free of charge, yes?

Or do they offer to buy the vehicle?

Sorry for not wanting to read the whole thread, if anyone could simply provide me some quick cliffnotes that would be great thanks!
