I should clarify, my truck was in for the frame inspection. They determined it did not need replaced.

It was my understanding the wiring harnesses were being replaced at the beginning of the campaign.
After many more trucks failing,Toyota corporate kept trying to find ways to save $.
Not replacing the wiring harness is one of them.

    What do u mean,already sealed?
    The holes are not sealed.
During this campaign though,I have read of guys having plugs put in their frame if they had the coating only done. My frame is being replaced this week, and the dealer is not installing plugs as part of the replacement process.
I have purchased the kit for $50, and will be installing myself after doing a fluid film application to the inside of the frame.

I guess post some pics of this kit and perhaps I'll do this as well. Like I stated I knew nothing if this. The dealer certainly never mentioned anything about a kit to seal holes in my brand new frame.

last i heard, sept 12 was the frame date. not sure if that is the manufacture date, delivery date or what. so another 6-8 weeks would be my guess

there were also reports that the harnesses where severely scarce/on backorder

this may affect the decision ....

To follow up on the plugs for the frame. I visited my dealer this afternoon and they said the plugs are for those who got the coating only because the plugs are to keep the coating inside the frame. Not to keep water out. It would kinda make sense to not plug the frame because it's just as important to let things get out. Not necessarily to keep water out entirely. I guess those who got the coating had frames that we're exhibiting signs of rust but didn't compromise the integrity of the structure. The coating must be designed to slow this process only and the plugs would keep it there longer. Again trying to think like corporate isn't my forte. That's just what they said.

So I assume this is the vehicles main wiring harness and post when it arrives. And hopefully provide a few pics.

From what I understood from the posts (and I could be be wrong) but I thought they replaced the wring harness that went under the truck to the rear - not the whole vehicle ????

Confirmed with dealership today and you are correct CANUFIXIT!!! It's the wire harness that's feeds the fuel tank pump, Aux power outlet and rear lights:amen:

I just got mine back today. New frame, new 4 leaf packs in rear, wiring harness to rear, lower control arms, brake lines, coolant, A/C freeon. I should have asked, but I think they changed the front diff lube, theres a new washer behind the drain plug, and the invoice lists 2-Walube Gear Lube. I also had them put on the Poly steering rack bushings I got from Wheelers while they had the rack off, which they didnt charge me for, and to say it tightened up the steering is an understatement.

I went in Monday morning, and they were finished by 11 am on Thursday. I waited on the list about 4 months before I got the call. They gave me a 2014 Tundra with the TRD package to drive around which was awesome, I was fully expecting a Prius.

It went in a little more than a full inch higher in the rear with the 1.5" AAL under the old 3 leafs and the Billies set at 1.75" in the front. With the Billies still at 1.75" and the 4 leaf pack the rear is now 1/2" lower than the front. I'm more than pleased with how it turned out, and when I do look at trucks in another 5 years or so, I'll be looking for another Toyota.

I noticed the shop replaced both lower control arms, but only the driver side upper control arm... is this a part that was included in the kit? I'm tempted to bother them about it...because if I did the work I would never only do one side. Overall I am happy with the job, but I found a couple bolts and screws under the cup holder they forgot and my antifreeze was low...makes me wonder what else was missed to get the job finished fast.

Lower control arm assembly is included. If they replaced an upper it's likely that they damaged the original during removal.

Dropped off my '06 RCLB Tuesday night, I was told the frames were sprayed today and that it would be ready for pick up Monday. I guess they take a while to dry.

Picked up today from the frame spray. Everything went well, the goop is still a little tacky, and is stinking up my garage a bit, but the quality of work looks good from what I can see. It may be my imagination but it sounds a little quieter now with all that rustproofer on there.

Here is the pile of new frames at Freedom Toyota in Hamburg as of 8-24

Has anyone heard the cost that Toyota is projected to pay for ALL these frame changes ???

Some of the older trucks may be worth less than the suspected replacement costs each (Approx $18K from what I have seen posted herein)

They paid for 100% of my frame replacement. I purchased a ton of new stuff and there was no labor charge if it would have been replaced with the frame project, I just paid for the parts. I have a 2006 and it is basically a new truck.

I don't think Toyota is paying much at all. A lot of the money came from the multi-million dollar lawsuit they won against Dana.

I guess we'll never know what the rate of 'replaced frames' vs. 'spray-coated frames' vs. 'never brought in' is.
