This is what I'm worried about. Delays, delays...

On another note, right now I have wheeler's AAL and 5100's. Fronts are set to 1.75". I'm thinking of letting them replace my leafs with the new 4-leaf that comes with the frame kit. How do they compare to the AAL? And I'm thinking that if I go that route, I should change the fronts to the .85" setting? Any opinions?

Hi guys, just joined the forum but have been lurking for a while. I took my 2006 Tacoma in for an oil change and the dealer told me it failed the frame rust recall. That was April of this year. I just got my truck back this week (September 18). I had told them to let me know when the frame came in because I wanted quotes on replacing the clutch (it works fine, but I thought what the heck, the truck has 93K on it).

Well they never told me, just called and told me the truck was done , but had 2 problems........ They told me the Airbag system wasn't working correctly and the TPS system wasn't working correctly. They had the nerve to quote me trouble shooting and repair. I specifically told them that they would take care of that for free since it was working perfectly before they touched my truck. They were a little taken back, but some how fixed everything. They also forgot to fasten the front bumper at the bottom 6 points. I also let them have it about hat as well. All in all everything looks good, truck drives great.

If taking your truck in I would document everything that works and make your dealer acknowledge this so they don't try and scam you when they don't do the repair right or damage something along the way.

No kidding. I had a 2012 GTI for a year, tuned it with APR stage II goodies, had fun for a year and then traded it in. Not sure how people are going to look at non TDI VWs now but I'm sure glad I don't have to find out.....

I almost have both. My 07 DCLB is due a frame replacement "in about a year...there's 21 ahead of you" and next-closest dealer is 400 miles away I also have an 08 Jetta (gas not TDI) that I'm selling soon. WHAT DO I WIN?

mine is a much more basic truck. paid 17,500 before tax and title. i've been assuming 10k for replacement, and i've racked up 7K in rental charges. factor in the cost of actually building the truck.... the first time.. still don't know why they couldn't cut a check for 12k and part out my truck to recoup some

If anyone needs a great dealer in PA to get their frame swapped, take it to freedom Toyota in Harrisburg.
They did a great job on my truck.
Better & cleaner than when I took it in.

Usually frame rusts from inside, so outside may look like 100% healthy while inside be completely gone.

Yea I bet it is really dealer dependent. I would guess dealers in more competitive markets may be a bit better than smaller markets. But who knows.

I'm up in Canada. Guy I know had the frame on his '03(I think?) Tundra replaced at no cost last spring.
