same frames the f-150 has. I just emailed them and asked how my frame is different from the bad ones in the past, and can I expect major issues. Lets see if I get a reply.

Yeah good luck on their replay :)
I had battle with Toyota when my 07 started rusting. They are masters of BS and excuses.
They may give you BS answer but truth is Metals bought Dana frame factory and continues frame production for Toyota

What makes you think they didn't change at least the metal composition of the frames to prevent rust, I don't think Toyota is in business to keep warrantying frames forever.
Be a real stupid business move to continue using the same defective materials!

    If you asking this me...
All of us who got frame replaced, got 2014/2015 frames ... So My truck right now has the same frame as your 2015 Truck (actually newer if you think about)

    Frames are exactly the same...

He asked if frame changed, its not changed. Its the same frame. If you got frame in 2014 and you getting surface rust after a winter, clearly frame is the same trash as was in 2007.
If brand new frame I got has unpainted spots ( i can see metal) how long you think it will last?

I thought similar .... IF the Mfg facility was that terrible - why is Toyota the only ones with problems of this magnitude? It leaves me with at least two possible answers. 1.) Poor Steel specs from Toyota. 2.) The Mfg failed to meet specs and Toyota failed to check/find/ correct this for YEARS !!

After Spending well over $20K for my 2012 Taco -and being ASSURED by the sales man and Sales Manager (with don't mean squat now) that this was fixed YEARS earlier - I have to worry if I'll have to purchase another vehicle before I get Rear end road rash ....

What does surface rust have to do with the actual integrity of the metal used? Doesn't new rotors surface rust in pretty much a weeks time?

Rotors are made from different steel composition because they don't have to flex and they will heat up to super high temperatures and keep them dry. So its not the same thing.
If it makes you feel better you can believe its different frame, but keep in mind Toyota did not believe 2gen trucks are affected when they produced your Truck.
2015 are first year after Tacoma issue recall, but also last year of the truck so why would they change anything.

Has anyone else looked into this or confirmed? I really didn't want the undercoating. But I will grudgingly take it if it means 5 years of frame warranty.

Went to the dealer to see what was going on.....

They busted the upper control arm bolts. Parts could take up to 50 days although he is trying to expidite them.

    The saga continues
