There *IS NO* two and two to put together. You are making invalid assumptions.

That is quite funny. And completely incorrect.
The warranty only tells you what they ARE obligated to do, like replace the frame if it rusts through in LESS than 3 years 36000 (miles?). It does NOT say what they DON'T have to do, like replace a frame that rusts through in 8 years due to negligence.

If you imagine that the owners manual will specify every single possibly maintenance item for every possible climate, then you are imagining an owners manual that is large enough that everybody who buys one of these trucks will have to also buy a warehouse to store the manual in. I wonder if it should also include the maintenance requirements for the warehouse that you use to store the manual? Do you think that the roof should be replaced every 5 years? Or 10? God forbid it starts leaking in 9 years, it might ruin your manual and you won't know how often to spray oil on your frame.

You lost me there... What are you trying to argue...?
Frame is 3/36 000 warranty and it lasts 3/36000 with out any maintenance. So Toyota does not have to put any maintenance interval on the frame. And I a mnot claiming they have to.
But if frame supposed to last more than 5 years they should have put maintenance on it. Legally however, as of now, lack of maintenance for frame is not an issue because it will last 3/36 000 beyond which, Toyota is not responsible for frame.
Thats why, IMHO for 2009+ folks if they have to go after Toyota, they should probably claim deceptive and unfair business practice. "You were convinced by Toyota representatives (salesman, dealer, Internet posts etc) that Toyota vehicle quality will make it last 8- 10 years which was not true"
Maybe grab all Toyota employee posts saying frame issue is not a problem anymore and use that as exhibit of deceptive tactics. :notsure:

    Now one more thing.
For those that think they have extended warranty and they covered... well bad news. Frame rust is explicitly not covered...
    Clever.... isn't

I went under my Tacoma this weekend to change the oil and lube the chassis. I noticed one of the drain holes under the chassis, where a drain plug added wasn't seated right and it looked like there were bubbling of the CRC around it. I removed the drain plug and found that they used a round plug for a rectangular holes, which didn't fit properly, looking like it was forced into the hole with the wrong plug. It was wet around the hole and the CRC coating around it came off easily, was wet with rust. The other drain plug on the other side looked good, without any CRC bubbling and was seated correctly. I wondered if there should be a drain plug there or if not being seated correctly caused the water to collect around the hole. I wonder if water is collecting in the holes and if they didn't add those plugs, the water would drain properly, so it doesn't stagnate, causing more corrosion.

Toyota's changed their minds, no more frame replacements, now they're going to buy back at 175% of blue book?
    :fingerscrossed:

No, that is what he is hoping the news is. Toyota had a buy back program for certain years with rusted out frames where they paid 150% of blue book value in excellent condition.

Did you ever get the set of struts and shocks for free, after asking Danica?
