Toyota's changed their minds, no more frame replacements, now they're going to buy back at 175% of blue book?
    :fingerscrossed:

No, that is what he is hoping the news is. Toyota had a buy back program for certain years with rusted out frames where they paid 150% of blue book value in excellent condition.

Did you ever get the set of struts and shocks for free, after asking Danica?

A long lost friend in Thailand died and left you his inheritance. You sent $300 to his estate to expedite the money release and now you're just waiting for that $250,000 check to arrive. Am I right?

Dealer called and said my frame was in, needed to setup appointment. 4 months for the frame, they ordered back in July. Not looking forward to this. I feel it is going to be a very painful experience. I can see arguing over parts they say I need and want me to pay for. I have a aftermarket skid plate mounted over the original skid plate. Does anybody think it is a good idea for me to remove it or let them do it? Also I'm thinking about having them install a new set of shocks/struts, just need to find out what they will change to swap over the springs.

I would take the skid plate off but it probably doesn't matter. As far as parts it sounds like it depends on your dealer, which makes no sense to me. I can't imagine why Toyota covers the extra parts to some dealers and not others. It's not like the dealers are eating 5k in parts to the guys getting them for free.

So I have heard that there have been no frame replacements for 2010s yet. Is this because they are not faulty or they have not rusted out yet? Is there anyway to tell who made your frame and when? Like a serial number hidden somewhere?

If you have a 2010, your frame was manufactured by Metalsa, there is no recall, and there will likely NEVER BE one.

Maybe I will take the skid plate off. I plan to drive to Tenn. over Thanksgiving (12 hr. drive each way). Might be a good idea to postpone the frame replacement until I get back. Not a good idea to go on a long trip after I get the truck back. God knows what problems could develop. Or, drop the truck off and use their rental for the trip. Save from putting the miles on my truck.

Hmm.... I see. Then on to my next question. When I got the truck I decided to have it Ziebart undercoated. Has anyone with a decent aftermarket undercoat that fell into the current 05 -09 recall successfully prevent frame failure, or does it just rust out somewhere else?

Is anybody here with a 2010 having serious rust issues?
